About half a dozen showcases have been announced and added to the schedule. Most are part of Summer Game Fest on Saturday, June 7.

The State of Play was decent but the first party aspect was pretty lacking. The Xbox showcase should be the best thing this week but hopefully the SGF showcase is better than usual and Devolver Digital has another good wacky presentation. It's nice to see Sony and Xbox doing something the same week again and there's no Nintendo Direct yet but the Switch 2 launch is a good enough substitute for that so this is the first time since 2018 all three have a big presence in early June. E3 is dead but it's kinda back in a way this year.

Summer Game Fest 2025 main showcase is done. Here are links to all the articles I've written up.

So the SGF showcase was solid but the Xbox one was surprisingly weak with no megatons and the one more thing being what will probably be another MWIII level COD. It was the worst Xbox event in quite some time and Devolver didn't even do a proper thing this year so that's pretty disappointing.
The Future Games Show was actually the most enjoyable but that was by complete accident due to the stream having issues that made things really funny and entertaining. Overall this week of events has been just alright and I said E3 was kinda back in a way this year but in the end that's only on the surface. In practice the excitement and energy of that is for sure completely dead. Hopefully the Nintendo Direct is a good send off for the month.
