No date in Latam is a bummer. Nintendo really don't care about us

Noticed that the bezels are still pretty big (the area of the screen that isn't used). But they are on the Steamdeck as well.

They wouldnt want to wait too long because Switch 1 sales are gonna drop (unless they do price cuts or retailers do price cuts to clean out stock).

Since they make so much more money on software than they do on console sales, I don't imagine lack of growth would be an issue at this point when they have 140M+ systems out in the wild.
Main question is probably how many of them are still actively buying games, and to what degree.

Hopefully within the next few years there will be a OLED version or a new version that has a bigger screen size with less bezel size.

They should still have a decent number out there in stock, if not Nintendo, the retailers surely will lower the cost.

Since the games are b/c - software sales shouldnt be affected too much, a minority might just wait until they have a Switch 2 in hands to play certain games even if they have a Switch 1 already.

Maybe those cardboard box games, cause the switch 2 is bigger than 1, prolly cant fit in.

It's probably like Xbox/Playstation where the successor architecture can run > 99% of the computing instructions the previous arch could but a few quirky ones depending on scheduling, latency, timing, etc. can't be replicated properly.

Any major game with those issues would be patched, but there might be a few odd minor ones that don't run very well.

Is this the first numbered non-playstation console ever? I know there are numbered home computers like MSX2. Its the safest name and the Switch deserves it.

What game announcements are we expecting? I might buy it close to launch if Metroid Prime 4 takes advantage of the hardware.

Wdym? This is the NES 8!

Now the question is how much more leaks out between now and April lmao. I thought Nintendo would just get everything out there pretty quick but almost 3 months is a long time.

Presumably not much more than the usual amount of leaks for any system.

The reason things felt different up until now is because the leaks we got were things that we could confidently presume to be true, because accessory manufacturers were already developing and selling Switch 2 accessories.

They wouldn't do that if they weren't extremely certain about Switch 2's measurements.

When it comes to game leaks though, there's no way for us to really verify the leaks in the same way, because they're rarely ever accompanied by images or videos. And even when they are there's a decent chance they could be faked images.
So then it's more of a case of if the leaked info comes from an established leaker with a good track record.

Also, I'd say there's more incentive for the manufacturer workers to leak the Switch 2 measurements because they're probably cheap labour workers, and they got paid by the accessory companies to leak the measurements.
When someone leaks a game, they usually don't get paid for it, and are probably earning a decent salary anyway. They just tend to do it for clout/an ego boost.

Yeah it might be the first non-Playstation console to recieve a number like that.
I like it though. It's safe and consistent. Little chance of causing confusion, like it has in the past for some consoles.

Xbox One X vs Xbox Series X

They said on the leaks that Switch 2 will launch around May-June, so makes sense the date of April 2 direct and the Experience Tour. Well, Switch 1 trailer was released in October 2016 (5 months before the Switch 1 Launch) and the first presentation on January 13th 2016 (less than 2 months before Switch 1 release date). In the case of the Switch 2 they released the first trailer on January 16th (2 months and a half before the trully presentation), so May/June make totally sense.

Yes I really like Switch 2 name. It's simple, clear and communicates it's a continuation of Switch

Some people are hoping $400 for the system

I would love it to be that much but I can see it being $500.

Reactions all over the board are extremly positive!!
