Forums - Gaming Discussion - FF7 Remake + Rebirth To Switch 2/XBox, Halo: MCC, MS Flight Sim 24 to Switch 2/PS5: Nate The Hate

According to Nate the Hate in his  newest podcast, FF7 Remake is coming this year for Switch 2 + XBox SS and FF7 Rebirth next year for the same platforms.

Halo: Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is coming to Switch 2 and Playstation 5 as well.

He also mentions MS is planning a lot of games on Switch 2, current Switch titles (like Ori) will be up-ported to Switch 2 and things like Sea of Thieves are likely.

Master Chief and Tifa from FF7 in the next Smash Bros ... hmmm ...

Final Fantasy VII Remake+Rebirth will be exclusive to PlayStation systems & PC. edit: I just saw the Smash Bros statements...yeah this is a load of nonsense. Not even the composer behind the Smash Bros Banjo Kazooie music knew that Banjo would be joining Smash. You're telling me somebody already knows one of the new characters to be added to an unannounced Smash Bros game?? Highly doubtful.

Final Fantasy VII Trilogy is exclusive to PlayStation systems. This was signed right from the start.

The director of the game just basically said it is coming to more platforms this year.

We don't know the direct details of any contract and even if there were Square-Enix can likely just add a little new content, and tada, now it's technically Final Fantasy VII Remake: Definitive Edition, which is technically a new game and bound by no contract.

You don't know the small print in those contracts. It could be timed. It could be conditional exclusivity.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

More mentions of Switch 2 and Nintendo announcing Lego Game Boy.

that is true, though it's very wishful thinking imo to expect Sony to have only secured brief timed exclusivity over something as important as Final Fantasy VII Remake+Rebirth. i don't see these games leaving PS/PC until PS6 releases at soonest.

I thought it was FFXVI that was rumored as having development started for other systems? I could be wrong...i also linked a source I'm seeing this from. (Which, to correct my initial comment, it seems only the first two games of the trilogy have become PS exclusives.)

FF7 Director, Kitase in a recent interview:

“While we are satisfied that we’re meeting a certain number of sales, with the current modernization state of games, we cannot be exclusive to a single platform. I think we need to [be able to] offer the game to as many players as we can.”

Someone else on the FF7 Remake dev team I believe said that they are looking forward to offering the FF7 Remake series on other platforms.

Forza if it follows suit and joins Halo would be a big get for the Switch 2 since it's still a bit thin on sim racers.

FF7 Remake series is the big one that I wanted for Switch 2 so if that's coming I'm all good. Halo would probably be second on the list. So if those two are already in that's pretty good.

I'm also interested how they're getting Flight Simulator 2024 to run on the Switch 2, that's a pretty demanding game. It runs in the high 20s on the Steam Deck. It also requires massive downloads (hello Express SD Card).

I can actually see Master Chief Collection doing extremely well. I'm talking about 10M+ lifetime sales.

MSFS getting PSVR2 support would be something lol. I'm hoping for some great Dualsense implementation for MCC.
