Not really. I do play games, and this year it’s going to be the Kaer Morhen sequences, including the drunk sequence and the battle of Kaer Morhen.

I do have film traditions: holiday season classics like The Thing, Ravenous, annd American Psycho. Already watched The Night Before (a heartwarming film about Christmas traditions, which includes a traditional match of Goldeneye 007). Even got a new one in, Dear Santa (about a dyslexic kid who accidentally writes to Satan).

Also Christmas carols, my favourite is another classic by Monty Python’s Eric Idle: Fuck Christmas.
“Fuck Christmas, it’s a waste of fucking time.
Fuck Santa, he’s just out to get your dime….”

Such a great song :)

Speaking of whom, maybe I’ll watch Life if Brian this year, the story of the messiah.

I normally get hooked on a new longer game during the holidays and we play co-op games together but this year there is no such release that interests me and we ran out of co-op games to play :/ I'm playing Tlou Pt2 again which fits the bill, next to more time in VR. But for action couch co-op I have no idea anymore.

It's -11 outside, with windchill -18, better to stay inside.

SJ, a friend of mine and his wife also play co-op games - but they've only been playing Genshin Impact for the last 3 years. Before that they were into Destiny 2.

Can you list me some of the ones you enjoyed most with your wife?

Watch the entire extended Lord of the Rings trilogy back to back to back

If I fire up any games, it’ll typically be an older one. This year thinking of playing Sly 2: Band of Thieves now that it just launched recently!

Everquest and WoW before we had kids. (Too much time investment required for those)

Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance games, Heroes of Norrath back on PS2.

We played some Halo, Gears and KZ together, yet FPS is not her favorite.
LBP was great but got worse with each sequel.

Dragon Crown Pro on PS4 was a hit.

2D Mario games on Nintendo consoles are always fun together, just like Rayman Legends. It Takes Two was fun as well.

We tried BG3 but that was too slow and too convoluted. We recently completed Lego Horizon, simple but satisfying in co-op. Yet now Path of Exile 2 seems to be the game we were waiting for. Feels like BG Dark Alliance while playing.

Same here! I'll be blasting through the trilogy on the 24th! On my new player and TV, I'm about to enjoy it about as much as one can on a home system.

Ha! Nice. I have done that not too long ago actually (and The Hobbit too, not all in one sitting obviously) so I won’t be doing it this holiday, but yeah there have been quite a few years where I actually did do this as well.

Funny thing, as I write this I’m actually on my way back home from a LotR/Hobbit Orchestra concert. The music itself is great, and they had one of the Dwarfs from The Hobbit (Ori) as a presenter, but the show was just ‘okay’, sadly. Some strange choices and omissions.

They're having a LotR Extended Edition marathon at a cinema here in January, with 45 minute breaks between. It's going to be epic!

That's awesome. I'd definitely go to that as well.
