Forums - Gaming - Proof The Game Awards Are Rigged

This makes too much sense.

In short; "The winners aren't mainly picked by actual gamers, but mainly by stuck up pricks who don't care about anything else.". No wonder each year we've had one game winning an excessive amount of awards while other games, sometimes much better games, are snubbed.

Fuck The Game Awards and fuck Geoff.

Around the Network

You make a Game Awards then. Lets see how kind people are to you...

rumor has it that its weighed 10% vs 90% in favor of the judges part of the game awards.

Ei. everyone that votes for games, all together, only factor in, at 1 / 10th of the final score or placement.
Basically the juges there, on the pannels decide the winner or losers, with very little imput from the actual voteing audience.

I agree with the OP, and the guy who made that video.
The voteing audience (the avg. gamer) should atleast controll a small majority of the total vote.
So like 50-60% of the decideing factor, should come from the public at large (the gamers, that bother to vote).
While the remaining 40-50% should come from the judges on these pannels.

The 90 to 10% split is just really unfair, towards the avg gamer that votes.
These game awards arn't representative of the gamer at large, that votes.
Its just the opinion of Geoff and his buddies, that decides which games win (and money talks way to much).

This has been known since forever but I don't see how making the fan vote bigger would make it more or less lopsided. That argument to me is a huge non sequitur with no evidence backing it up.

For all we know most people would just vote for their favorites across the board. Unless Geoff came up with random nonsensical categories like Steam does to force people to think a little about how they're voting.
