Probably better directed at the subreddit. I'm not an expert. Aside from the obvious of things like fighting games and shmups maybe puzzle games.

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcengine/

I did my own research with the help of some obscure fan sites that I won't mention. PCCD is not easy to collect for and not exactly region free. It's complicated. Unless you are crazy like me, just get a Turbo Multicard and download these...

  1. Avenger

  2. CD Denjin (Air Zonk Game)

  3. Cotton Fantastic Night Dreams

  4. Dracula X

  5. Dragonslayer Legend of Heroes

  6. Dungeon Explorer 2

  7. Dynastic Hero

  8. Fantasy Soldier 2

  9. Gate of Thunder

  10. Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire

  11. Kaiso Chojin 3 Shubibinman 3

  12. Lords of Thunder

  13. Wonder Boy III Monster Lair

  14. Pop n' Magic

  15. Prince of Persia

  16. Ranma ½ Dato Ganso Musabetsu Kakuto Ryu

  17. Seirei Shsnshi Spriggan

  18. Star Parioder

  19. Super Raiden

  20. Vasteel

  21. Winds of Thunder

  22. Ys Book I and II

  23. Ys III Wanderers from Ys

P.S. When I say it's not easy to collect for I mean it's Sega Saturn levels of expensiveness. Anyone complaining about SNES or Genesis game prices, or even PS1 has no idea. Add in that many CD games need a corresponding RAM cart and it becomes even harder. Now add in that region unlocking a Turbo CD is hard. Finally Turbo CD is a POS system that is prone to breaking all the time. Trust me. You do not want to actually start up a collection lol.

I play mine on the Polymega. PCECD and SCD I don't own tho I usually game on OG hardware.

Isn't the Polymega just software emulation? Why not get an Analog Duo? At least then you have something like 99% accurracy.

Well it plays a bunch of consoles and back them up. Pre ordered the Polymega back in 2020 and got it last year with the stim check. Analog systems always launch when I am broke lol but if they do a Saturn/Dreamcast I will buy kneepads if I have to in order to get them. Won't be denied those. Some PCE CD games I am eying tho is Spriggan Mark 2. Side Arms Special. To add some needed shooters to my collection. The TG16 Mini is nice but I need some physical. Nexzr as cool as it looks just too costly. Recently focused on building Japanese Mega Drive games. Burning Force. Assault Suit Leynos. MUSHA Aleste and Gunstar Heroes. Now want to shift focus on PCeCD. It's pretty small atm https://vgcollect.com/Leynos/pcenginecdjp

I'm not starting up a PCE or PCCD collection until I finish things like NES, SNES, Sega-CD, etc. But send me your wishlist. I'm always hunting and see stuff a lot more often than most.

There is a company called PCE Works that makes professionally stamped reproductions of CD games. I'm not sure if they hold the license to these games or not but if they do I've always considered things like Retrobit rereleases to be as real as the OG copies.

I don't know, man. These things ended up littering thrift stores and yard sales, and no one wanted them after a while.

I'll also throw in the Super FX chip.

It allowed for some really epic experiences that went well beyond what the base hardware could do. Granted, it was built into the cart, but it was still technically add-on hardware.

Microsoft: Kinect. - Still use it today for voice controls.
Nintendo: Gameboy Player. - Thousands of mobile games adds to the Gamecube library.
Sony: PSVR2. - VR on console at it's finest.
Sega: - 32X - Increased capability for the Genesis.

The nunchuck is another one I liked. It was more or less the precursor to the dual joycon setup, which is easily my favourite controller configuration.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Some others I thought were cool/interesting

Wii balance board

Super Scope

Ring-con

Satellaview

I'm so used to the nunchuk being part of my default Wii setup that I didn't even consider it an add-on haha.
