One thing this shows is that dropping the last-gen consoles is overdue. I'll be shocked if the 2025 COD releases on them with sales having gotten this low.

Xbox committed for the next 10 years to also put COD everywhere (PlayStation and Nintendo).
That means the Switch 2... which is rumored to be around PS4 levels.
So potentially the next few COD, atleast might still have PS4 support (though it could be dropped)

The Switch 2 will be notably better than the PS4, particularly CPU and storage speed wise so it'll actually be easier to get a game to run on it than the PS4.

Every Playstation sale and every PC sale is an Xbox sale. Soon every Switch 2 CoD sale will also be an Xbox sale. Xbox is not taking any losses with gamepass. They weren't getting profit from Playstation/PC/Soon Nintendo from Call of Duty sales pre-acquisition.

Xbox is profiting more from CoD now than it ever has.

Not really a way to answer the poll, because there is no sales losses.

"Call Of Duty Black Ops 6 sold 15% less units than Modern Warfare 3 (2023) and 46% less than Modern Warfare (2022)."

Xbox didn't own CoD when Modern Warfare (2022) released, so it only had Xbox sales to profit from then, and it was a smaller percentage then than it is now.

and water is wet....  your stating the obvious, and ignoring the point of the thread.
Its a sales thread, and sales are down.

The amounts of revenue that CoD used to make, from sales are now lower.
That doesn't change no matter who owns who, or what studio.

Also if you pay 70 billion $ for a company, and the profits it normally makes are suddenly lower.... that doesn't matter at all, because now they are owned by MS? and it wasn't beforehand... that's your take right?

No, my point is there is not a separate profit/loss pool.  I was also looking at it from a point of view of the current company owner (different profit margin/massive player base) versus previous company owner (smaller player base/only Xbox).

I didn't know I wasn't suppose to be doing that, sorry.

What are you talking about?
Are you trying to say Call of Duty still makes money?  that's basically right back to the "water is wet" thing.

Also why is the "current company owner" someone with a massive player base, profit margins....
Compared to the previous company owner (activison?)  The amount of people, they sell call of duty to, hasn't changed. Its still going all the same places. Whats changed is the amount of sales, its made.

"I didn't know I wasn't supposed to be doing that, sorry"

I legit don't understand what your trying to argue.
So I cant grasp your view point.

Can you explain it better?

*edit:

In your first post, it sounded like your logic was just, now its owned by xbox, so xbox is makeing more profit (than they were before).
Which is true. No one is even doubting or debateing that.

The point is, sales have gone down.
So the studio, that used to make lots of money.... is makeing less money.
Even if that now goes towards MS and XBox.   Hence the thread. Its about sales.

Ei. water is wet, again.

Even if your take is like "xbox/ms has so much money it doesn't have to care, about anything".
Buying something expensive, and getting less than you expect in return.... sucks?

So what is your point?

I think we should compare this with CS:GO's performance. After that game went F2P, it sold 0 units. Now this is a flop!
