I don't get why some people keep thinking it's gonna happen any day or any week now. Nintendo has no reason whatsoever to announce the system before January. There is no business reason to harm their holiday sales just to announce the system now. People, just wait until January and we'll almost certainly get the reveal that month.

timeline is likely something like this:

jan - system reveal

feb - system details and games blowout

may/june - launch

There has never been any reason to expect a reveal this year ever since we found out the system was delayed into 2025.

I said some reasons earlier in the thread but another one is if it's entering production now or has recently entered production making sure people's first exposure to it isn't a shitty picture taken in a factory is a factor. The timeline you presented is absolutely possible though.

My prediction of a march 2025 release from 2019 is coming closer every week now. I even feel like this could only be the earliest release date as time goes on...

At this point a January/early February reveal seems most likely.

My prediction is that if Kamala Harris wins the U.S. presidential election, Nintendo will announce it during the Harris acceptance speech. If Trump wins, he’ll walk out with it in hand accompanied by Miyamoto and the new MarioKart.

If the Switch 2 is not announced now, i think its clear that Switch 2 will come out later in 2025 than what most people expected. An announcement now would mean Switch 2 is coming out first half of 2025, but if they wait until January/March it could be a September 2025 launch for Switch 2. That isn't exactly the best momentum for the Switch 2, not only will it miss stuff like Monster Hunter Wilds, it will also compete with GTA 6 which will be the major thing around the time the Switch 2 is launched in late 2025. I think this wasn't the original plan from Nintendo, but it seems they are really struggling with getting the Switch 2 launch games ready, so much so that they will release the console when Switch sales have all but collapsed next year with much worse momentum.
