The NFL Superbowl is on Feb. 9th ... I think Nintendo will want a Superbowl commercial for Feb. It worked well to generate excitement for the OG Switch launch.

I really don't see any evidence of that happening. As big an fun as the Superbowl is but its nothing too big outside of the US. They will want a more international event for a Switch "2" unveil. Everyone will be talking about the Superbowl. If they'd unveil it there maybe people would say: Ok, a new Nintendo system anounced... ok its cool but thats about it. Its like a car developer presenting a new car on a Fashion Show, where all the eyes are on the ladies and new clothes and maybe even the audience is not there. Ok the Xbox 360 was presented on MTV first but those where different times and MTV was way bigger and way more international than Superbowl is today. Thats absolutley not downplaying Superbowl, but its more likley they launch an own event and show a teaser first... i think a teaser in january could be in the cards...

I don’t think he meant a reveal at the Super Bowl. More of a condensed ad that perhaps many gamers have already seen based on the reveal in January. I actually think this is likely. The US is a very important market for Nintendo and everyone watches the Super Bowl, if for nothing else than the commercials.

Yes I meant a reveal in late Jan, then a Superbowl commercial on Feb. 9th.

IF it was unveiled in a full showcase (not only a teaser wich i think is more likley) then maybe an ad. But march is more likley for a showcase. I really think if we do not see a full unveil by next month, we can kiss march 2025 goodbye and the sucessor won't be out before may- july 2025. I think Switch is running too good to be replaced in march.

For those still holding out hope for 2025 reveal: Nintendo's stock price has been blowing up over the past week-and-a-half. Indicates to me potential insider rumblings regarding a reveal being very soon. TGA is also said to have some big reveals this year...though I would be stunned if Nintendo chose to reveal their upcoming system during a non-Nintendo event, especially with how little rep Nintendo has this year. I'm still betting on January 2025, in any case. (Only three months remain after December. Jan, Feb, Mar: It has to be one of them.)

I don't think there is any reason to believe in the first place that it is coming before May 2025. A March launch is probably around a 0% chance of happening. Not sure where the idea of a March launch even came from or why you are mentioning it. Extremely unlikely they are going to launch it just two months after a reveal. If a March launch was planned they would have revealed the system earlier this Fall.

Everything for a while now has been pointing to a late Spring launch. We've known for months that there are still first party Switch games coming out in the first few months next year, which presumably are releasing before next gen starts. We've known it was extremely unlikely Nintendo would hurt Switch holiday sales by revealing the new system this year, and also considering they long ago said they would announce the next system this fiscal year (rather than calendar year) that further pointed to the announcement coming in early 2025, not 2024. We've known it was extremely unlikely Nintendo would only leave a couple months between the announcement and the launch, because why in the world would they! Not even sure why anyone has been talking about a March launch. Since at least this Summer the May-July period has been by far the most likely launch time.

You could've kissed march 2025 goodbye like 6 months ago if you were being realistic.

The point is that i predicted a march 2025 launch back in 2019 when Nintendo said the Switch will last longer and will be replaced later than previous Nintendo systems. The NES was 7 years, so the Switch has to be 8- so march 2025. It was me who came up with mach 2025 in 2019. It was me who spread around rumors about Switch Up in march 2025. Not too long ago i've been laughed off for even doubting a march 2023 release date because "Nintendo always replaces their systems after 6 years blablabla..." and that was after Covid delayed everything and the Ukraine story including inflation was already going on. Yes in 2022 people still predicted a march 2023 or summer latest possible release date with TOTK as cross gen game just because BOTW was one. The same people claim its "100% sure" MP4B would be cross gen when Metroid never was.

February this year rumors about a release in 2025 even started so i moved my prediction to march 2025 as the "earliest possible release date possible". I don't say its 100% likley now but i am shortly before moving my prediction to may- july, if not later...

Again I feel comfortable that production has started as of October 2024.

Shipments of the Switch 2 SoC (Tegra T239) to their Vietnam factory (keep in mind this factory makes about 200,000 Switch 1 systems per month presently and receives about 200k of the Switch 1 SoC per month):

June: 3000-4000
July: 3000-4000
August: 48,000
September: 810,000+ delivered

The motherboard, LCD screen, dock components for the Switch 2 are also arriving in large numbers now to this factory. Even the dimensions for the physical Switch 2 box are now known because a small quantity of the Switch 2 packaging were shipped as well to the Vietnam facility as of October (it has its own product code).

The Switch 2's product code is "BEE" by the way (speculate on what that stands for). Switch 1 is HAC (which probably stands for "Handheld And Console"), with Switch Lite being HDH and Switch OLED being HEG. So for example on the Switch OLED packaging you can see it ships with HEG-001 (the Switch OLED console) but also HAC-002 ... HAC-002 means the power adaptor, and that adaptor is HAC because it's the same adaptor in the OG launch Switch model too.

By the way "BEE" has now started appearing in Nintendo's own official copyright notices even for Switch 1 products, so for people who say "how do we know shipment data is legit!" ... the product code BEE has been now seen in official Nintendo documenation for the Switch 1 even:

There you go "BEE-006" I believe is the product code for Switch 2 game cartridges (HAC-008 is Switch 1 game carts I think).

Generally speaking I think a product launch 6 months after production begins is a good bet. With PS5 we saw some launch units dated to May 2020 at the earliest (Sony puts production dates on their consoles), and it launched of course on November 12 2020.

I think they're going to go for a full-blown reveal event instead of a teaser trailer like they did before. With the Switch, it made sense because they had to introduce the hybrid aspect and throw a few games, including third party, to show which direction they were going. Now everyone pretty much knows what the so called Switch 2 will be like. I guess we can expect a reveal for January and maybe a release for March, but I'm more confident on the reveal than the release date.

As march 2025 was my original prediction from 2019 i seriously doubt it more every passing week without an announcement now. If we do not get a showcase in january, we can kiss march 2025 goodbye for a may- july release (earliest)...

Yes we might not see a teaser as they won't need to highlight the hybrid aspect anymore, thats a good argument no one can ignore, but we need to take into account that there could very well be another gimmick/ function Nintendo wants to highlight/ hype, that better suits in a teaser... maybe, maybe not... i don't know...

I'm thinking early February is most likely now for unveil. At that time Nintendo needs to show their projection in hardware units for the upcoming fiscal year.
