Anyone take advantage of any pre black friday sales?

I got a bunch of stuff already! The sales start early on my country's version of Amazon.

I got The Green Knight on 4K, the Lord of the Rings 4k trilogy boxset (finally!), John Wick 2 and 4 (the only ones I like lol) and the Dawn of the Dead 4k (original).

Non-sale related, my wife got me two new releases: The Terminator 4k and Godzilla Minus One on 4k as well. I'm pretty hyped to watch them both again! It's been a long time since I watched T1.

A few days before Christmas, my new home cinema was ready to open its doors and we watched the first movies on the big 135'' screen, both UHD movies and Blu-ray 3D movies (f.e. "The Hobbit" trilogy in 3D).

Fast forward a few weeks and my 3D-movie collection hast already grown 50% from 150 Blu-ray-3D discs to 224 Blu-ray-3D discs.

Since the cupboard planned für Blu-ray 3D movies and UHD (4K) movies was full much earlier than expected, both formats are now in separate cupboards:

This should be fine for a while, especially on the Blu-ray 3D side... since I already have most good 3d movies worth watching and only very few new movies support 3D (probably only Avatar 3 this year).

I'm trying to do more careful budgeting this year.

Last February, I spent almost $500 - Psych on blu-ray, a few seasons of Monk on blu-ray, as well as like 15 movies, collector's edition of Suzume, Rick and Morty S7.

Trying to budget more like $100.

January:

30 Rock on blu-ray

Jurassic Park 4k collection

Parks and Rec on blu-ray

Last part of Attack on Titan

Hyouka

February's spending will be:

Seasons 5-8 of Simpsons.

Uzaki Chan season 2

Also bought an import of the Painted Veil.

Also kind of making some budget plans for later in the year.

Spy X Family S2 comes out in March.

A standard edition of A Place Further Than the Universe comes out in April.

No Country For Old Men has become my second Criterion movie.

Been more on an anime spree for buying though.

Preordered Spy x Family Season 2, A Place Further than the Universe.

Importing Code Geass.

Bought a lot of 3D movies in February... now my collection of Blu-ray-3D-collection grew to 330 titles (and a few more are ordered).

F.e. the complete "Turbine Collector's Series" (so far) dedicated to 3D movies which don't get a release by the big publishers in my region:

I have the first ten seasons of The SImpsons (the good years) on DVD and still watch them all the way through every few years. I enjoy owning my media physically because I like to be in control of it. Short of the TV and player breaking, or the power being out for awhile, there is never anything getting in my way. No one de-listing it. No one telling me that it will be leaving soon. No one looking through a 2024 lens and deciding to censor things that were considered acceptable decades and decades ago when it originally came out. It's just a much more enjoyable experience having it physically, on a shelf, ready to watch when I'm ready to watch it.

A bit off topic but does anyone know the Status of The Simpsons in 2025? Some years ago it was reported that there will be only 2 or 3 more seasons. Has anyone got an update?
