Twilight Princess.

Around the Network

Classic.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

A couple people already mentioned it, but it’s the “Mad World” trailer for Gears of War, for me. All of the Gears trailers were great but that first one was on another level.

The Super Mario Bros. 3 trailer is a classic, as well.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Super Mario Bros 3

Final Fantasy 7 - I like this trailer, because this was the first major game that every played like a movie.  (Unlike the past 20 years where tons of games play like movies.)

Nintendo Switch - I feel like this is the type of trailer people will still be watching nostalgically 20+ years from now.

I was one year old at the time of this reveal lol. If I were a little bit older, I’m sure this would be my pick knowing how popular this was for the time.

I was 7, almost 8 when the reveal trailer happened at E3 2004. I didn't see the trailer until the early 2010s on YouTube. It's a banger, and I'll pick it as one of the best. That was the day "Grown Men Cried for Zelda."

But of course, there are other trailers that stand out.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl reveal: Artwork/graphics change from Melee, final smashes, Meta Knight, Pit, Zero Suit Samus, Wario, and SNAKE?! A third-party character in Smash?! And an M-rated one mostly on PlayStation?! Cats and dogs living together! Mass hysteria!

Kid Icarus Uprising reveal: A long-lost IP brought back and an exciting trailer.

Super Mario Odyssey reveal: It was like a dream. It was the Mario game so many of us had been begging for.

Super Mario Odyssey E3 trailer: Jump Up Super Star!

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth trailer: No Promises to Keep and the other other aspects of the trailer were fire.

I could keep going but these are the ones that really stand out.

Recently? I really like how Astrobot looked.

I could tell from the trailers that it was going to be a banger, way before reviews came in.
It had a heavy emphasis on the game play, and that was all it needed.

Both Dead Island 1 and 2 had really great announcement trailers...games themselves, not that great...

Credit to Bioware. They know how to make a trailer.

There was nothing like it at the time. And for many people this would be their first time playing a 3D version of a franchise they love.

And this one probably elicited the strongest reactions I've seen.
