So when do we get April-June results for the big three? I'm pretty sure the results came in around July 30 last year but I haven't checked.

I think we may see Nintendo lower its projections for Wii hardware if Nintendo forgoes a price cut...one the other hand they'll probably beat their software projection for Wii with a price cut.  Still, I think its fair to expect a $50/50 Pound/50 Euro/5000 Yen price drop in between NSMB Wii and Wii Fit Plus worldwide.

PS3 projections I think will be lowered a bit as well, probably to 11.5m or something. PS2 software may be lowered. PSP software is probably right, not sure how impactful the PSP Go will be...current reaction seems pretty tepid but they'll probably leave that projection.

Microsoft should be approaching/topping Genesis/N64 figures this quarter.

PS3 approaching Xbox figures worldwide.

I also expect both Sony and Nintendo to revise their forcasts. They where probably made back in March when sales where still very strong.

I doubt that Sony will revise their forecasts for PS3 or PSP after only one quarter. Clearly PS3 forecast was made with a price cut in mind, and PSP forecast was made with PSP Go in mind. Any forecast revisions will be made after they see the results of those two events.

I think we're more likely to see "value added" measures and a $50 price cut than a $100 cut from Sony which to me, with PS3 down 1m YOY in Apr-Jun means a price cut.

There are rumors that independent trade shops in the UK won't stock the PSP, and that French retailers have no interest in selling the device. I expect it to do well in Japan but I dont think Sony should be real optimistic outside Japan.

Its starting to look like 2008 was the hardware peak for this round of machines (DS/PSP/360/PS3/Wii) so I'm actually more interested in software trends at this point. We could end up seeing the Wii, DS, PS3 and 360 all top 500m units of software (DS/Wii are givens) which is unbelievable considering last generation only PS2 was within a whiff of 500m sw.

Hm...so we should get Microsoft's shipment data next week. For June 30 shipment data I'll go:

DS - 605m SW/108.5m HW (5.58 Games/DS LTD)....~40m games for Apr-Jun 2009, 6.7m DS systems

Wii - 390m SW/53.5m HW (7.29 Games/Wii LTD)...~37m games for Apr-Jun 2009, 3.1m Wii systems

X360 - 31.9m HW LTD (1.7m Apr-Jun)  ~275m SW LTD?

PS3 - 23.2m HW LTD (1.5m Apr-Jun) ~190m SW LTD (15m for Apr-Jun)

PS2 - 137.2 HW LTD (0.9m Apr-Jun) ~ 9m SW (Apr-Jun)

PSP - 53.5m HW LTD (1.8m Apr-Jun) ~ 8m SW (Apr-Jun), ~218m LTD
