Forums - Sales Discussion - Official Big 3 Quarterly/Annual Results for shipments to date & projections

I've included the projected March 2009 shipment figures in the chart, but it looks like the Wii-gen has a long way to go yet.

From GAME's financial:

UK totals the same as we got from GAME's post Christmas trading statment (these figures are only through January and heavily rounded), but interesting that we also get combined totals for France, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Czech Republic, and Australia.

Next 36 hours should be fun.

Monster Hunter G first day figures and 360 shipment figures through March 31, 2009.

Should be 80,000/1.8m/30.3m for MHG/360 Q1/360 LTD or something...

i think MHG is going to put the rocket up Nintendo shares. They already bounced back from the low and i am just waiting patiently to see how they go before i buy.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

REDMOND, Washington (AP) -- Microsoft Corp. says its quarterly revenue fell from the previous year for the first time in its 23-year history as a public company.

The world's largest software maker said Thursday its profit dropped 32 percent to $2.98 billion, or 33 cents per share. Sales in the fiscal third quarter slipped 6 percent to $13.65 billion from $14.45 billion last year.

Microsoft makes most of its profit selling the Windows operating system and business software such as Office. PC shipments fell for the second straight quarter as consumers and businesses sharply cut back on technology spending.

I actually think 2009 will be the peak year for this gen.
I think Wii definitly will hit its peak in 2009 ( if it didn't in 2008) and the Wii is selling so much better than the other consoles that I don't think they will be able to make up the Wii short comings in the future years...
