I’ve never “rage quit” a game before.
On rare occasions, I’ve boredom quit. Generally I’ve enjoyed most games I’ve ever played, I’m fortunate :)

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Around the Network

Original Ninja Turtles NES, not sure if I ever did finish the game as a kid.

That star level in Super Mario world where you hold your breath. But came back until I finished it.

So many times in GoldenEye 64 DLTK mode.
Nothing rage worthy since though.

You must be lucky, I quit about 75% of the games I play. It's like every fourth game is the one that sticks on average, it's rare to get into game, finish it and get straight into another game. Sometimes I like a game enough to put it in my backlog instead of outright quitting but ... yeah, the backlog folder is more of a graveyard for games. They've got a chance of coming back out but it's like a one in ten chance.

A sane response but do you think challenging games save the players money? If your stuck on a game it extends its life.

Sure, that's the whole reason NES games are the way they are. Nowadays games tend to be artificially lenghtened through sidequests and other inane completionist stuff far more often though.

Oh yeah, bloat for extended gameplay is sickening but ya know some people are into ticking check boxes if a game is something they're enjoying. I don't mind it if the game is really good and I wanna extend gameplay but some take it to extremes, like Hogwarts Legacy, full to the brim of small, repetitive tasks every square foot of the map with thousands and thousands of collectibles. I think The Witcher 3 done it perfectly, it's not packed but just filled lightly with content that feels significant enough that it's fun and no bloody collectibles or notes.
