I almost forgot, Descent

And make it compatible to 3D glasses while at it

It was, I played it on a CRT projector with NVidea shutter glasses. Mind blowing in the 90s :) It was Descent 2 though I think.

Descent for VR next! (Cavernous Wastes on PSVR1 was a great Descent clone with procedural caverns)

Wipeout 2097 remake in VR with the original music would be my pick.

F-Zero. Give it updated graphics, remixed music, the F-Zero X roster, more reasonable story mode difficulty, an F-Zero 99 mode for online multiplayer, and not have each character's ending cutscene locked behind the hardest difficulty. I wasn't able to see the GX character movies without YouTube. -_-

I cant select only one.
Its between MGS Delta and Silent Hill.
If we include Remasters, and its real, Soul Reaver I&II would be my top top.

It's happening! SDCC statues were shown with the words Soul Reaver I&II Remaster on the display card!

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

I picked Chrono Trigger. But that kind of includes any number of Square games which would do well with a 2D HD remake, like Xenogears, or Treasure of the Rudras...

There's actually an enhanced PC remake of Zelda 2 in the works. Graphically it's still the NES version (with widescreen and some additional effects like parallax scrolling for the backgrounds), but gameplay-wise it's massively expanded.

Here's some playthrough playlist if you want to have a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvQLLVfjSMY&list=PLErWX3hw1ka7d61QZU-pYUTPdmEXvKb5P

Exactly and me too, that's why I mentioned it.

Descent with VR... I guess we're gonna have quite a few people with motion sickness with that one, though.

That would be nice - though I'm suspecting they would opt for similar artstyle. Man, I really wish Nintendo managed, even only once, to actually translate Terada Katsuya 's art into actual Zelda game.
