The party has been hijacked, millions of us are aware and bothered by it.  Thus it isn't correct to group us.  The Nazi party were socialists.  that doesn't mean socialists are Nazis.

Nazis were not socialists.

North Korea is called the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Do you believe North Korea to be a genuine democracy?

Some of the first people that the Nazis went after were political opponents, such as socialists and communists.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I think a major contributor to this idea, is that a lot of Americans think that left wing means big government and right wing means small government. The definition has more to do with hierarchy. Left wing is more about some idea of equality. Whereas right wing is about some people having more power than others.

You are missing the point, and likely doing as such intentionally.  Trade Nazi out with Stalin Marxists, whatever reference you want to use is fine.

As you mod you should not be selectively letting people shit post.

Blanket statements that republicans are afraid of women is shit posting.

Haley was 2nd in the primaries....

Renamed's post is on the border line, but calling the Nazis socialists is flat out incorrect and falls under the category of misinformation.

I don’t think it’s accurate to say that the Republican Party has been hijacked by MAGA, maybe that was true in 2016 but the party has had multiple opportunities to sever ties with Trump and try to moderate itself but that hasn’t happened.

In the aftermath of the 2020 election interference & J6, I truly thought we would see a split where MAGA became a separate party but only a few Republicans members of Congress took a strong stance against Trump and most of them have been kicked out since then.

MAGA isn’t a fringe faction of the party, it IS the party at this point. Moderate/center right Republicans would probably have more success joining the Democratic Party and try shifting it to the center than trying to shift the Republican Party back to its pre-Trump era.

Nothing scares Republicans more than powerful, educated women. Especially if they have more melanin than a Swedish tan. But even more so if they declined to participate in the proliferation of fetal manufacturing.

I thought we agreed no shit posting?

Taking a few morons and painting the entire party is shit posting.

Shit posting requires an inaccurate take with the purpose of eliciting a reaction of anger.

I use no more hyperbole than any major Republican leader.  Speaking of Republican leaders, why are they calling Harris a DEI hire?  Why are they targeting childless mothers?  Until the average Republican voter shows that they rebuke Trump, Vance, et al, and disavow their rhetoric (you know, don't vote for them anymore), then they are have no grounds for not being included into the group.  If the majority of Republican voters are not in agreement with Republicans leadership, how is leadership remaining leaders?  Why continue to align yourselves with these 'bad apples', as you say?  If they are representing R's as a group so poorly that they feel bothered being labeled the same as them, be angry at them for associating their character with their leaders.  Change your leadership.

National Socialist German Workers' Party

Either way, I leave this thread alone.  I'm not happy with the bias.

The fact that "Republicans are scared of women" is consider factual is absurd.

Powerful, educated, childless women. And that fact will hold until the party's rhetoric suggests otherwise.  And Trump dodging the debate against her doesn't help.

The bias here or the Republican party leadership's rhetoric and attitudes toward powerful, educated childless women.  Which one bothers you most?

There's also The People's Republic of China, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Deutsche Demokratische Republik/Democratic Republic of Germany, and so on. All these names suggest that there were free and fair elections determined by the will of the masses. When you're the one in charge, you can call yourself whatever you want.

Sorry that you're going to leave the thread. I appreciated your input, and I was hoping you'd reply to my requests to post your source from that NPR survey and share what tax breaks Trump promised and delivered on.

I was correcting your inaccurate example.

Very little has been done about any shit posting. One person got banned for making sexist remarks.

Just like if you had made a comment about how "Democrats ran Biden despite the fact that they should have known he was incompetent", I probably wouldn't do anything about it, aside from making a comment.

We're not being selective but you can certainly accuse us of not doing enough.

Do you think Republicans are pushing the best policy on women's rights?

Trump got 76% to Haley's 20%.

Democratic People's Republic of Korea

It's common to name things with things that sound good.  Most people wouldn't have supported Nazis if their party name was the "End Jews Party".

“The "socialism" in the name National Socialism was a strategically chosen misnomer designed to attract working class votes where possible”

I’m not trying to dogpile on you, just pointing out your analogy doesn’t work and isn’t helping your argument.

But what bias? Were you moderated when you repeatedly asked, “why are liberals afraid of data?”

Nobody has said  “republicans are afraid of women” is a fact, it was that one users opinion.

North Korea's full name is Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

~Edit~
I see the-pi-guy beat me to it.

I imagine you don't think North Korea is particularly democtratic.
So I'd like to hear how the Nazi party were socialist in anything but name.

I've only ever seen this misconception being expressed by right leaning forum members.
You can describe nordic countries like Sweden and Norway as social democracies. But they are very much capitalist countries. The main difference is that their social safetynet is much broader than it is in the US. More of the tax money goes back to the people in the form of meaningful programs like universal healthcare, or tuition free college. And less goes towards bombs.

Those are things that people like Bernie Sanders strive for. But the term socialism is conflated with communism by the right in the US, and it gets a negative connotation.
Many even think that Biden is a socilist. Or that if the country gets one more socialist program (Universal Healthcare), it will transform the country into a communist or socialist country. Never mind the many other such programs paid for by taxes, like roads, schools, fire department, law enforcement, etc.

But if USA just get one more... that will transform it into Venezuela.

The same kind of people who point out that the "Republican party freed the slaves, and the Democratic party were the racist ones", but then don't stop to consider why its Republicans of today that support the confederacy.
