Bingo There a few options out there but the two names that came to my head first for a good VP pick was Josh Shapiro - Popular Pennsylvania governor a state she must win Roy Cooper - Governor of North Carolina, could help put into play some southern states like North Carolina, Georgia |
Not many Demos know those names. Those guys are not as well known as Schumer. Same goes for Beshear. Your VP guesses confirm my thought that the upcoming DNC will be an absolute and historic mess. |
I don’t think name recognition is what’s important for VP, it’s about shoring up a needed demographic or winning an important state.
I don’t recall Pence being a household name before he was picked for VP, he was chosen because he was boring and very religious which made him a strong counterweight to Trump’s various controversies.
Kamala is a black woman from the state of progressives & “coastal elites”, a moderate white guy that can appeal to swing voters in the Rust Belt is the counterweight she needs.
