Gotta be GOAT Fantasy VII.
Tactics and Tekken 3 were pretty good too.

There was so many good game this year. I could of easily voted for 6-7 games that came out this year but I am going to stick with FF7 for my game of the year.
I also want to throw some love toward my second favorite console game that released this year after FF7 which no body mention so far which is Alundra. To me Alundra is the greatest 2d Zelda style game. To me it a better version of link to the past. Better puzzles and better story. I love link to past but I love Alundra even more.

Never played it, but I had hear the name before and your description of it sounds exciting. Hopefully it winds up on PS+ premium at some point, not sure who owns the rights to it.
Proud to be the second voter for Star Fox 64.
The best Star Fox game to this day.
The best rail shooter to this day.

It's great but Panzer Dragoon and Rez are better

I never played the original Panzer Dragoons that were actual rail shooters. I only played Orta, which I thought was fantastic.
How well do those games hold up? Because Star Fox 64 has aged incredibly well compared to most N64 games.

There is the PD remake (Don't play the Switch version but PS4 or PC) . Zweii tho is a better game and still plays pretty good. People really need to play REZ tho. It's closer to PD in gameplay but it auto-rotates rather than the player.
