Forums - Gaming - What Retro Games Do You Want Remade?

One I really want a remake of is ICO, in the quality that the SotC remake got. The HD version is pretty good but the backgrounds are all still the original pre-rendered ps2 backdrops.

I'd like a Mother 3 where it's not nearly as depressing and where we get the better ending that was cut where Porky's capsule fails, he crashes and dies.

Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64, Halo 1, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2.

I'd put the Genesis Sonic games, but to me Sonic Mania satisfied what I wanted in a 2D Sonic game that pays homage to those games.

I'd like to see Donkey Kong 64 remade with some quality of life and level design improvements.

The Zelda oracle games is the first thing that comes to mind. I think they did not get the attention they deserve when originally released. Remakes could spark interest for a new audience to experience them.

Of the older games I like most still play and look well enough to not need an upgrade. There might be a few games with great potential that was held back because the tech was not advanced enough. And there is probably a lot of games that could benefit from some quality of life improvements but I cannot think of much at the moment.

I want to see old Tomb Raider badly

For me, when I want to play a game from my past (and my past stretches all the way back to the 2600, so pretty much all of modern console gaming), I want to play the game as it was when I first played it. Usually, that means the actual cart/disc, in the actual console, with the actual controller, and on an actual CRT tv. So I can't really say there's any older games I want remade, as I wouldn't enjoy them anyway.

Having said that, I'm kind of trying to change my life right now, so the idea of playing retro anything... it's not appealing. I've gotten old, and I've gotten stuck in my ways. Not to the point where I think my stuff is inherently better than today's stuff (I don't), but stuck in my ways as in not being able to like the changes that have occurred in the world around me. Be it movies, music, games... it got to the point where I literally enjoyed nothing, because everything has changed so much since the eighties and nineties, that it could almost be considered a different product altogether. I want to change that asap. Tired of sitting in front of my CRT, playing PS2 and SNES games all night. They're legendary games, they're great... but man... I miss being a part of the world, and getting to share experiences with other people. So this old guy's going to finally adapt and get a PS5. Probably even going to go mostly digital, as well. Screw it.

Boy, that sort of got off topic quick lol. Sorry about that!

Sounds like my life to the T lol

Except what got me into a different direction was a kid to look after lol.
