Jason from Bloomberg published his article confirming Sony won't be doing PC ports for their single player games anymore, second party and live service games will still be ported tho.

Nixxes is mostly screwed and should join Bluepoint very soon, it seems.

The people cautioned that things could change in the future due to the unpredictable nature of the video-game industry and that Sony’s plans are constantly shifting.

Reads like he's given himself an out in case he's wrong. I'll wait and see what happens this year.

As for Nixxes, they're fine. No need to be worried about a studio that is actually releasing games.

Change in the future mean it's already confirmed and it would need to change, not that it might not happen, he is already mentioning specific games that will not land of PC due to this decision, as Yotei and Saros.

And if I worked on Nixxes I would be very worried.

You're right, but it needs to be confirmed first.  That's why it's an out, because if they announce Yotei for PC, he can turn around and say 'plans change' and no one would be the wiser.

These plans are for SP content only. Nixxes has ported MP games, they're porting non-first party games, they're supporting first party games for console, they can remaster games for console.

There's enough business to go around for them.

To me, when Jason told it that was already confirmed, even before this articles, he has never been wrong as far as I remember.

He was also the one to confirm Horizon Zero Dawn on PC which was when the plan started. I've been paying attention to every news he is involved with since that specific case (Horizon on PC, which I didn't believe at the time), and as far as I'm concerned, everything that has reached me before happenind did in fact happened.

About Nixxes, I would need to check their portifolio but I'm inclined to believe since Sony bought them the majority of it was those exact kind of single player first party Sony games, was it not?

Are we expecting for Sony to port any game this year to pc?

Because chronologically this would be the year to release 2024 games but Helldivers 2, Horizon remastered, tlou2 remastered, ronin, stellar blade, LEGO Horizon and Until Dawn are already there. Also Concord may rest in hell lol.

I never expected for them to port Astro to pc and Death Stranding isn't even theirs so I think this year is tricky.

And yeah the difference between NIXXES and BP was that NIXXES is releasing games constantly and they are already working in other games.

The most interesting thing for me is that with the posible PS6 delay it would have been very easy for Sony to decide porting their games faster but instead they decided to back down a little. With Wolverine and GTA I don't think their finances for the next couple years will miss the sales PS single player games have on pc.

Oh and it's funny how people are complaining about this but they live criticizing the fucking games lol.

Well, on the bright side, I’d much rather have the bandaid ripped off than being left to be in a constant state of wonder if I should get Saros, Wolverine, or God of War remake trilogy at launch or hold off a bit. Let’s me readjust what my plans will be.

Pre-ordered Tokon on PC. Always prefer fighting games on PC.

I wonder if/when Sony will make the announcement of this course change, or if they’ll remain silent.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

I played the Marathon Server Slam and it wasn't for me.

But I'd love a single player game in that universe. The Marathon lore, the tension of its world, the mystery behind some of the enemies, its brimming with potential.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but Firesprite has confirmed they have multiple projects in development.

The much rumored Until Dawn 2 and perhaps an early PS6 title? I can't imagine they do another VR game.

Bro, you have no idea how true this statement is!!! Imo, Marathon's world and lore well surpasses even that of Halo, which itself has such a rich world and lore to dive into that there are literally novels that dive even deeper lol.

And I came to this conclusion just from playing the original trilogy. There aren't any novels, any voice acting, cinematics, etc. It was from putting everything together, from the game's atmosphere and terminals that were providing story beats, to where I was putting the pieces together and was blown away about how deep the story was really going.

The potential this IP has is astronomical, and it is a damn shame we'll most likely never get it fully realized, but I do appreciate how they're still emphasizing story beats and the world's lore in this version of Marathon. I'm still planning on playing it even if it is only for a season here and there.

Why not develop a history mode to go around it is beyond me.

People can mock Concord but it had plans to do that, expand every character story in the game within time, doing the same for new ones, it was a great idea IMO.

The game couldn't even last a month to even try it tho.
