Forums - Sony - PlayStation Nation |OT| Playing Astro Bot on the Horizon Until Dawn

30th anniversary of the PS1 launch in Europe, but for me, I'm celebrating the 30th anniversary of WipEout. My favorite PlayStation franchise! Growing up, WipEout WAS PlayStation. I'm still enjoying the Omega Collection to this day but was hoping the original trilogy would get added to PS Classics. Oh well. Hopefully for the North American 30th anniversary in November. Or......at least something WipEout related lol

PlayStation: The First 30 Years is something I'll gladly waste money on lol.

Completed Lies of P the other day. Was my first Souls-like, and for the most part I enjoyed it. I can't say the story grabbed me so much, but the atmosphere and general vibe was pretty cool. I think the game loses a lot of steam in it's final dungeon: just a horrible section to get through, and it's boring as well. It feels even worse to get through on a NG+ run, even if you can get it faster.

I like the fact that the game was updated to include difficulty options. I played on the middle difficulty (1 below the original) and got stuck pretty early on. Moved onto the lowest difficulty and was able to get through the game and enjoy it to the conclusion and for a NG+ run.

I think the game does a great job with the Pinocchio IP, from the overall story and smaller details that play into the original story.

But I don't think I'd play enough Souls-like again. Unless there are difficulty options. But cool game.

The store I pre ordered Ghost of Yotei emailed me that the game is already with the shipping company.
It should take some days for it to ship to me but the game left the store 2 days before the release date.

Are people already receiving the game out there?

If the DualSense with detachable battery is real and it can work connected to the console without a battery, that will be so perfect for me lol.

I have never had drifting problems but my ds4 ended up dying because of their battery, it was that moment when I realized that wireless controllers aren't for me lol. I have been waiting for Hori to make a wired ps5 controller but nothing, hopefully this is it.

Sony has stated they're going after IP for their entertainment businesses after spinning off their financial division.

Multimedia buys that benefit multiple arms of Sony are likely candidates. Kadokawa, Bandai Namco, and Warner Brothers post split are the best options for them. I could see Sony finally locking up independent studios like Arrowhead and Kojima too.

This one of the biggest things I appreciate about Xbox keeping their removable battery covers this gen on their controllers lol. My DualSense is now at only about 2-3 hours on a charge now at the most, so I have to recharge it pretty much daily. I'll pick up this V3 version even if just for the removable battery.

I do wish Sony had more third-party controller support. Xbox and Nintendo get new ones from different companies almost weekly lol.

Yep I know the xbox controller works connected without batteries, props to MS for that.

And the PS5 controller options are either wireless or wired but they are pads for fighting games that don't have the right stick lol.

I don't game enough in any one session to have my DualSense die on me or stop me from playing. Usually game, then charge it while I watch some TV.

That said, I would prefer removable batteries myself, especially if I can use rechargeable ones.

I had my doubts last year but after one year of processing I'm all in them buying Kadokawa lol and is the least expensive of the candidates that make the most sense. Bandai makes a lot of sense too but I don't really play Bandai games other than Digimon, when it comes to anime they have my attention tho. I love Blue Lock and recently I have seen ads with the "only on Crunchyroll" legend and next year it's the world cup, it's going to be a good year for Blue Lock. I'm not that interested in them owning Warner tbh.

Personally IP that I would love for them to buy but they wouldn't make fuckloads of money would be:

-If Ubisoft wants to sell their IP now that they are going to spin off AC, FC and 6 with Tencent. I would love Splinter Cell or/and Prince of Persia.

-New EA has 20 billion in debt so if they want to sell IPs Mass Effect come to papa lol.

The premise of the Nikkei article is the acquisition of IPs with weight so that's what I wish from them. No more Firewalks and Havens lol.
