Need some PS4 recommendations. I’ve gotten pretty much all the PS5 games I’m currently interested in and started building up my PS4 library.

So far I’ve gotten Gravity Rush 1&2, Patapon 1&2 remastered (I’ll live that 3 wasn’t remastered) Concrete Genie, Wipeout: Omega Collection, Shadow of the Colossus, and Tearaway Unfolded (which I’m currently playing along with Wipeout)

And as far as PS4 games that are also on PS5 or I’ve already played on PC are God of War (2018) and Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection, and Spider-Man Remastered/ Miles Morales

Which genres interest you the most?

Some picks would be The Last of Us Part II, Persona 5/Royal, Nioh 1 and 2, Nier Automata, Horizon Zero Dawn, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Final Fantasy XV, Days Gone, Spider Man, The Last Guardian, Red Dead Redemption 2, Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, Disgaea 5 and 6, Crash Bandicoot 4, Sonic Mania/Plus, Sonic Origins/Plus, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Digimon Survive, Death Stranding, Yakuza 6, Devil May Cry V, Ace Combat 7, Monster Hunter World, Detroit Bscome Human.

Ys (Origin style), Valkyria Chronicles 4, and Vanillaware stuff (probably Dragon's Crown) will be my next games once I'm done with Unicorn Overlord, VC1, and Ys8.

Put over 120 hours and counting into Unicorn Overlord. This game is too deep for its own good, I spent too many hours in the menu and those damned mock battles lol. I beat/cheesed the colosseum on the hardest difficulty setting while my 4-members team is 23-27 levels lower than the enemy. No way the developers thought of all the possibilities. But this makes me excited to try out the online feature when I'm done with the story and some post-game content.

Loved Odin Sphere and now Unicorn Overlord. If I enjoy Dragon's Crown as much, Vanillaware will join the small list of my favorite developers. I wonder what genre they'll tackle next!

Biggest genres that interest me are FPS (RIP Resistance) oh actually how was Killzone: Shadow Fall? I loved the second game in particular.

Also RPGs, Strategy, Action, Platformers, and anything that would be difficult to really describe like Concrete Genie or Tokyo Jungle. I really appreciate uniqueness.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Shadowfall was apparently poor, but I haven't played it, so I couldn't say what was necessarily wrong with it.

I don't really understand what people disliked so heavily about Knack. They're not amazing games by any stretch, but I don't think they're bad. There are much worse games that get less vitriol. I've seen some people criticize them for not actually being platformers.  They're probably closer to e-rated God of War (original trilogy) games, than something like Crash. My kids love them at least.

There are lots of other games to play first, but I think they're worth checking out cheaply.

The problem with Knack is that it appeared on the surface to be a new 3D platformer, which is very clearly ended up not being. As pointed out, it's more like an e-rated GoW.

the 2nd game fixes this exponentially and leans more into platforming, but it's also feels like a much longer game than it needed to be.

That said, I enjoyed both, but the real deal killer for Knack was its poor art style, and I honestly believe that it was hurt its chances.

Shadowfall is bad. It has some cool ideas like the Owl. Levels 3-4 are fun but the rest of the game is a chore. Mothergunship is a uniqie indie FPS you build your own guns. Crysis Collection. Prodeus (not sure if on PS4 but is on PS5 and amazing. Doom 2016 like with retro visuals) Titanfall 2. CoD Infinite Warfare all great campaigns. Bulletstorm HD is another.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

The same way Stellar Blade and Concord (lol) were confirmed for 2024 in a PS Blog post in 2023 now we have the confirmation of Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2 for 2025.
It's time to play the guess game of release dates and also what else they are going to release next year, after all we started 2024 with 2 games confirmed and ended the year with 6.

-I think Ghost will release in the first half of 2025, if I have to say a a month I would say May.
-DS2 is a second half of the year game. August-September.

Now, about what else for the year I have 4 ideas:

-Wolverine. I think Wolverine will release in 2025 because Insomniac has a release game median of 1.5 years between releases. It's hard to quantify how much covid impacted the development times but among all PS Studios Insomniac is the most reliable when it comes to dev times so I think they will release it in 2025. October-November depending of when GTA6 releases if it releases at all, they shouldn't compromise to release a game in the same month than that.
-Fairgame. In theory FG has only 3 years in development so it shouldn't release that quickly but they announced it last year so in theory it shouldn't take that long either. From all the services left this is the one that "worries" me the most because all the other services are from devs I trust lol. Haven is a Ubisoft child and Ubi isn't good right now. I hope the game is good but if it won't be doesn't matter how much time it takes then the sooner the better. Second half of the year.
-A remaster. Nixxes said Horizon remaster was the first of many projects they were working on, they did a great job, they are the new BluePoint now that BP is making an original game so the concept of Remaster is kind of nice again (if it comes from them). But what remaster? Technically all the ps4 juggernauts already have a ps5 ver. so this could get really interesting because it would be either a ps3 juggernaut or a ps4 game that was in the middle between best seller and didn't sell, Bloodborne is in that category but I don't see Bloodborne before the ps6 LOL. First half of the year.
-Marathon. Supposed to be a 2024 second half game to then a 2025 game this is a game that I would love to NOT see in 2025. I have faith in Bungie as developers but after all that happened thanks to the Bungie shitty administration I just don't feel like the game will be ready for 2025. They are getting a lot of patience from Sony, Sony retained half the people Bungie fired to keep working in the game but that is going to end soon so I think there is a big chance we will see Marathon in 2025. I wish for a very late 2025 release date lol.

This was a solid year for Sony. I'm a huge Helldivers fan so I was very excited about Helldivers 2 and I am happy that it became so important for Sony so quickly. I enjoyed a lot the remaster of TLOU2 mainly because I didn't play the original ver. when it released lol I had nothing against that game but I just wasn't that interested back then. The remaster of Horizon is just the peak state of a game I love. The Final Shape was what Destiny fans deserved. Astro Bot is fantastic, my personal GOTY and it will mean a lot in the future I'm 100% sure of that. I know a lot of people didn't like LEGO Horizon buy personally I enjoyed it, it wasn't a $60 game AT ALL but that's on me for preordering stuff lol. All of that in a year Sony warned from the beginning was going to be quiet. (Until Dawn and Concord included but I didn't play those games and Concord in specific was a terrible event in history).

Well, guess I know what Platinum's I'm getting next! I heard Jak 1 on PS4 was a bit of a mess, so hopefully this version will offer a much better experience. Sly 1's Platinum on the PS5 re-release was surprisingly a lot more difficult than I was anticipating lol but made it feel a lot more rewarding.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

If you want a great game but also an easy Platinum as in you can play it and enjoy a great retro game or have the game play itself and earn a easy Plat. Gleylancer on PSN. 6 bucks 40 min

Is PlayStation Wrap Up not working for anyone else?

I'm using Google Chrome and I can't get it to load. Seems to be an issue for some others too.
