Perhaps the US should start shutting down the border with right-wing states. Because they're infecting the world with diseases like measles.

By 1992, measles was mostly gone in the US, and eliminated in 2000. This autumn, thanks to the anti-vaccination movement, 1900+ confirmed cases in the US. Mostly in Texas, Utah, and South Carolina. People from these insular unvaccinated communities where the spread is heavy are freely moving to infect other parts of the US despite quarantine protocols... It seems they only put those in place, not at exposure, but when it is already too late and dozens to hundreds are infected. Looks like the whole Thanksgiving thing is going to be the cause of a lot of spreading in the coming months.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

"I loved having measles! It was fun spending a week in bed eating popsicles!" - some 70-something year old idiot on Facebook, who was from Texas, justifying her antivax stance.

Typical classless trash from the Felon in Chief over the homicide of Rob Reiner.

But the left’s rhetoric is the problem, according to certain members on this site.

Jesus wept.

Drowned out by the Bondi beach shooting, although school shootings rarely make the news anymore in the US :/

US Muslim group sues Florida’s DeSantis over ‘terrorism’ designation

A Muslim American group has sued Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for designating it a “foreign terrorist organisation”, accusing the right-wing politician of violating its free speech rights over its Palestine advocacy.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and its Florida chapter filed the lawsuit in federal court on Tuesday to revoke the state decree that blacklisted the organisation.

CAIR, which has been a leading organisation in pro-Palestine advocacy in the US, said DeSantis had no legal basis to make the designation, which “rests on political rhetoric and imposes sweeping legal consequences on a domestic civil rights organisation because of its viewpoints and advocacy”.

The lawsuit was filed amid a spike in Islamophobia and right-wing calls for targeting Muslim groups in the United States.

Trump places US entry restrictions on Palestinian Authority passport holders

The White House has released a fact sheet detailing a “proclamation” signed by Trump that further restricts the rights of certain passport holders from entering the US.

On the list are people with passports issued by the Palestinian Authority (PA).

“Several US-designated terrorist groups operate actively in the West Bank or Gaza Strip and have murdered American citizens,” the fact sheet read.

American citizens have recently been killed by the Israeli government and settlers in the occupied West Bank during ongoing daily attacks against Palestinians there.

“In light of these factors, and considering the weak or nonexistent control exercised over these areas by the PA, individuals attempting to travel on PA-issued or endorsed travel documents cannot currently be properly vetted and approved for entry into the United States,” the statement said.

The US designated terrorist group are the Hilltop Youth, an Israeli Settler group.

No Americans have been harmed in the West Bank by anyone with a passport issued by the PA. The Americans that have been harmed and killed, have been by the IDF and Settlers.

Besides that, Palestinians in the West bank are under more control and constant surveillance than the average prisoner in the US.

The US is trying to outdo Israel in dehumanizing Palestinians. US politics of hate.

Q: "The jobs report you mentioned this morning…said 100,000 jobs were lost in October and the unemployment rate…is the highest since the pandemic…How do you inspire companies to hire people?" Vance: "The unemployment rate only counts people who are looking for work."

Unlike a lot of people here I'm not American; I'm English, and like most Europeans we see American politics and the hyperbóle around Trump in a very different way.

From all the way over here, I very often see Americans completely blowing something he said completely out of proption.

--------

But this, there is no ther way to describe this other than unhinged.

Just for a moment think about the thought process here.  Trump has heard that someone he didn't like has been murdered, and he thinks a good idea is to post on social media that Rob was murdered because he didn't like trump.

That's so fucked up.

I've laughed at some of the nick names he's given people over the years and all the stuff he said about rosie o'donnell.  But to me this is so messed that it moves be from being impartial to having a negative outlook on him

Sony want to make money by selling art, Nintendo want to make money by selling fun, Microsoft want to make money.

Funny how "America First" keeps translating into boots everywhere else. South America too, I guess.

If people are actually serious about U.S. interests, there is a new PAC worth knowing about called AZAPAC. Look it up. The whole point is pushing back on AIPAC's and getting foreign lobbying money out of U.S. politics.

You do not have to agree with everything they say to see why that matters. A government that answers to voters instead of outside interests seems like a pretty basic idea. Just saying, real sovereignty starts at home.
