Oh I totally get that but it was exactly as you said.  People were attacking other people.  People weren't having a conversation.  They were just coming in all suited up to go to a culture war.  No winners.  No mutual respect of ideas.  Just anger.  The thing is, what makes politics so usless is that it promotes polerization.  But we aren't like that in real life.  In real life we agree about more things that we disagree about.  That thread was just a wasteland of rhethoric.

Exaclty what was the 'right' correct about in this particluar instance about Kirk?  Or the right guy who murdered him?  I was attacked for instancing that murder was wrong and that I also understood people's dislike of Kirk.  Like it is some sore of crime to disagree with Kirk... so weird and completely against Kirk's own beliefs.  It wasn't enough for me to be disgusted by the violence.  I had to segment a portion of society, call them 'left', and say they are the eniemies of humanity.  There was no middle ground and they were not trying to have meaningful conversation.  Sounds crazy right?  Kinda almost as mind numbingly crazy as an Alt right white male murdering a white nationalist in cold blood for who know wtf reason.

It's called the US Politics thread, not the Lefty Thread. Pretty sure you've already posted in here multiple times in the past. I've explained why the Charlie Kirk thread was locked elsewhere, look at how toxic this shit is making everyone, and yes a large part of it was because there was absolutely no good coming out of the thread, a user was driven away, people were posting straight up fake accusations with zero proof, half the site was ripping each others throats out, Lol.
