A Venezuelan boat that the U.S. military destroyed in the Caribbean last week had altered its course and appeared to have turned around before the attack started.

We haven't seen details of the government's analysis concluding the strike was lawful. What they've offered so far is a broad self-defense rationale that would seem to apply even more directly to drug shipments at the border or even within the United States.

Trump issues a statement after Kirk’s death blaming the “rhetoric of the radical left.”

Trump addressing the nation for this but not the school shooting.

Something looked really off about that video though, I can't quite put my finger on it.

Anyway, the same as always, blamed the "radical-left", said he would go after them and the organisations that support them, listed a bunch of examples of "radical left political violence" like the Republican who shot at him last year, and Luigi killing the healthcare CEO which had nothing to do with left-wing politics and I'm pretty sure Luigi is a centrist. Also mentioned the shooting of Scalise 8 years ago so at least he was right with that one but somehow didn't find time to include the Democrat Minnesota legislators shot at and one killed earlier this year, or the far-right capitol storming, or the attack on Nancy Pelosi's husband by a Qanon nut, or the assassination attempt on Gabby Giffords, or the kidnap attempt on Whitmer.

Wonder why that is.

Also they haven't even captured the suspect yet much less know their motivations but are already saying he was a radical left winger, Lol. I mean, he very well could be, and he probably is, but we don't know anything yet about his motivations and the last time they jumped the gun it turned out to be a right winger, and the time before that, so maybe actually fucking wait? But that wouldn't help their narrative. They're so damn desperate to use this as their trigger to go after all left wingers.

The video feels weird to me, because he barely moves. Almost entirely just his face moving.

He is not well and I would not bet on him finishing his term.

man i don’t care what your thoughts are on Charlie Kirk, that is extremely sad. We wage war not on flesh and blood, but against principalities. Lord bless his friends, family, and all who cared about him. This is terrible. This guys death will change nothing for the better, and only serves as a loss of life.

The Trump administration has used declarations of emergency to justify everything from tariffs to national guard members in LA to troops in DC to now warcrimes.

They are testing the waters. They want to see how far they could push it before they are stopped. While I have studied law, you shouldn't need to to realized that this is wildly illegal. The originalist enablers of the Supreme Court must know that emergency was not meant to be simply whatever the president says is an emergency, and that there must be some rational criteria before using the emergency powers which were intended to be very narrow. But, the Supreme Court has shown time and time again that it will rubber stamp anything Trump does. If they rule that Trump can use emergency powers due to a trade deficit for physical goods, which most economists agree is not necessarily a bad thing, then he can use them for anything, and we are truly and utterly fucked.

I don't find it sad in the least.

Charlie Kirk to his credit was honest about at least one things. If we let anyone possess military grade weaponry with no restrictions, there will be gun deaths. There is no way to stop it. We can't surveil everywhere all the time. It is impossible.

Charlie Kirk was perfectly content to let other people, children even, live in a world where at any moment they could become a target. He was perfectly willing to have children sacrificed to his interpretation of the second amendment. I'm guessing he never figured he might be one of the victims.

So I feel sad for all of those people in school, church, music festivals, offices, supermarkets, minding their own business till they're gunned down. But, if people have to be meat shields to protect our insane gun laws I can not think of a more deserving person.

Fuck him.

I like how some leftists are crying crocodile tears or at least trying to show some "empathy". Meanwhile at the heigh of the BLM riots, everything was fairplay. Same for when someone attempted on Trump's life. Interesting.

Now let's see how this can be manipulated into pushing more shitty gun laws even though California,.with how strict it already is, still has a lot of gun violence.

All I can say at this point when leftists have been labeling the tamest of people of all, like Charlie Kirk, as Nazis and fascists, I cannot wait till the most of the right starts agreeing with them. Leftists have watered this down to the point where it means absolutely fucking nothing. Congratulations.

Left this, right that, at the end of the day all you are doing is exactly what has been done before.  Picking a side and then going about the blame game.  Someone killed Charlie Kirk because they did not like him just like someone kills someone ever day of the week because they do not like someone.  Someone will die everyday because someone doesn't like someone and it really have nothing to do with left or right BS.  In America, we solve problems with guns and we will continue to solve problems with guns because that is the culture of this nation.  For a person who himself promoted hate, you seem to be ignoring that he put that target on his back but somehow its the left calling him names that is the issue.  The issue is that someone had access to a high powered sniper rifle and was able to use that to kill someone while you wring your hands on finding a way to blame the left, ignore the right and ignore Charlie Kirk own words that put him in the sights of someone who disagreed with him to the point where they felt to put him in the grave.
