Canadian Conservative boss decries pro-Palestine ‘hate marches’

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre on the campaign trail has pledged to deport foreigners from Canada for “criminal hatemongering”, accusing pro-Palestinian “hate marches” of contributing to a spike in anti-Semitism.

“We will bring in tougher laws to target vandalism, hate marches that break laws [and] violent attacks based on ethnicity and religion,” Poilievre told reporters.

“Anyone who is here on a visitor visa who carries out law-breaking will be deported from this country,” he added, words echoing messaging from the Trump administration.

Poilievre was campaigning in an Ottawa electoral district contested by Liberal leader and Prime Minister Mark Carney, who this week drew the ire of Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu over “genocide” remarks on the war in Gaza.

It's looking good, but still too close for comfort.

US, Iran talks ‘very positive and constructive’: White House

US special envoy Steven Witkoff met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and had “very positive and constructive” discussions, the White House says.

In a statement, it said Witkoff told the Iranian foreign minister he had “instructions from President [Donald] Trump to resolve our two nations’ differences through dialogue and diplomacy, if that is possible”.

“These issues are very complicated and special envoy Witkoff’s direct communication today was a step forward in achieving a mutually beneficial outcome,” it said, adding the two sides will meet again next Saturday.

The Issues are not that complicated, dealing with Trump is the complication.

Wait so this is good news for Nintendo then. It means that the very most the Switch 2 will cost will be $500. At this point they might as well just eat that $50. Same for Sony ($40 - $70) and Microsoft ($30 -$50). Just take the hit.

It's sad that Alberta and Saskatchewan want to support Poilievre. He's a puppet of the guy who wants to annex Canada.

And in Australia, you have Australian Trump (Dutton) and Australian Musk (Gina Rinehart.) Does Canada have an equivalent of Musk?

Please choose wisely, Canada and Australia.

2nd place is Changpeng Zhao, crypto founder and former CEO of Binance, the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange.

3rd place Sherry Brydson, one of the six billionaire heirs to her late grandfather Roy Thomson’s media and publishing empire. Her family’s prime holding is more than 310 million shares of Thomson Reuters, also owns other assets including the Globe and Mail newspaper, as well as the Montreal Canadians and Winnipeg Jets NHL franchises.

The usual crap, control the money, control the media.

Is Zhao gunning for a position in PeePee's DOGE?

Sometimes, I wish I had recent enough Canadian, British, or European ancestry to claim dual citizenship.

In a WhatsApp group named Build Canada, some of the country’s most prominent technology leaders, including Shopify executives Tobi Lütke, Daniel Debow and Kaz Nejatian, as well as investor John Ruffolo, are developing a vision for where they think the country should go next.

From what I saw, gaming consoles for some reason aren't part of the exceptions, in addition, even these exemptions for the other things are only for the 145% or whatever the fuck it was, there is still a separate 20% tariff on China which was put on them about a month ago for some made up fentanyl claim. It basically seems like whoever gave Trump a bribe got exemptions for now.

However!!!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nobody is going to buy that these tariffs will be enforced a month from now, all talk from this administration, they will cave for the 5th time. I doubt even the markets will react this time around so Trump won't be able to give his rich buddies a heads up at his stock market manipulation. Does anyone buy this shit anymore?

Bonds and USD may continue to weaken though as the world moves away from an unstable America.

Don't worry China, they'll cave on the rest soon as well.
