To expand on what my colleague Jasmine said earlier about China's response to the tariffs: A lot of nations in Asia Pacific have been nervous about Beijing becoming more assertive on the national security front. But when it comes to economic matters, they do want Beijing to successfully boost domestic consumption, since selling more to China would help mitigate damage from Trump's tariffs.
