Shits like the start of WW2 except if America invited Britain to Washington then victim blamed us, antagonised us, and then kicked us out the White House then cut off support to Britain, before that gave a dozen concessions to Nazi Germany and demanded we be nicer to them, then voted alongside Nazi Germany in support of them, I mean shit, America was isolationist during the start of WW2 but at least they weren't fucking actively siding with Nazi Germany and attacking Britain!

Trump went from "I'll stop the war before taking office" to "I'll stop the war in a day" to "I'll stop the war in 3 months" to completely pissing the bed, losing a mineral deal and escalating everything with now no end in sight aside from threats of allowing Russia to overrun Ukraine if Trump doesn't get his way and a dozen concessions to Russia.

He could end the war between Israel-Hamas because Biden already wrote that deal, all it required was a little pressure from America, but Israel still continues to kill Palestinians whilst US Media pretends everything is fine now, with Ukraine he clearly had zero plan, zero idea, did not understand the complexities at all, realised he can't end the war quickly and is flailing, and because he is a coward but one that also admires fascists, he would rather capitulate to Russia than help the victim, which is Ukraine.

The US was actually doing lend-lease to Britain and Russia in the first two years of the war. FDR did want to get militarily involved, but Americans didn't want to put boots on the ground. Still, there was material support, and not the half-assed trickle we gave to Ukraine, either.

Yeah, by isolationism I meant they didn't want to get directly involved but they aided us, they thought they were safe across the ocean, like Trump. So maybe labelling them as isolationist isn't fair, they were basically doing what they were doing with Ukraine right now, supporting Britain with military aid albeit at much lower levels for Ukraine, but the rest stands, America under Trump during WW2 would have kicked Churchill out the White House, cut aid to Britain, voted with Nazi Germany at any international voting bodies, demanded UK surrender and give Germany a dozen concessions.

That last point I definitely can't argue. Wouldn't be surprised to find out that Fred Trump (Donnie's father) was a Nazi sympathizer. The Trumps, incidentally, tried to hide their German heritage for years because of the World Wars. Even the name is an Anglicization of Drumpf.

Bunch of cowards, too. His grandfather came to the US to flee from military service in the Bavarian army.

I wonder what King Charles will say to Trump. I wonder if Keir will continue sitting on the fence.

Funnily I was going to say earlier today that Keir actually did a decent job, Trump seemed to actually like Keir and be impressed by him, he blindsided Trump with that letter from the King and Keir even slapped that moron Vance down when he made a dumb comment about UK. I did not like his response about Canada though, a "we're here to talk about Ukraine" would have sufficed if he wanted to avoid the topic, not "UK and USA are best friends" but I felt like he actually achieved Ukraine support through his visit.

Course Keir has been bamboozled by Trump and it was all an act, all horseshit, if I was Keir I'd be fuming at the complete waste of time. Keir goes from looking like he maneuvered around Trump to looking like he completely wasted his time, now if Keir goes back to America it's going to look like pathetic begging. He needs to take a side, and the Brits have already chosen, they'd rather Europe than America. No one gives a shit about what happened yesterday now between Trump and Starmer, Trump tanked it all in a day.

He's going to look like a man pleasing nobody who can't take a firm stance. UK will never be anything under America's shadow but we may be something as a key ally to Europe, a leader, rather than America's dog. The UK fought proudly to defend Europe once before and fought the Nazis, America has abandoned us, I genuinely think Keir taking a firmer stance calling out America and siding with Europe will help his poll numbers.

He's terrified of American tariffs, but there ain't nothing like a common enemy to unite people.

King Charles should rescind the invitation to Trump, he won't, but he should.

"The UK must stand with Ukraine, no matter what. They are on the front line of our collective defense, fighting and sacrificing for freedom. We owe them our support—and our gratitude," former Secretary of State for the Home Department and current MP James Cleverly said.

Conservative MP...Now find me a Republican who has a spine.

He's a tosser but at least the Conservatives aren't Russian sympathisers.

A member of Russia’s state-owned news agency gained access to the Oval Office on Friday to cover President Trump’s sit-down with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky – even as the AP and Reuters were barred from the high-level meeting. The White House said the journalist was not authorized to be in the press pool.

A correspondent for TASS, a Russian state media organization, was among a group of hand-picked pool reporters present in the Oval Office for the leaders’ meeting, which is part of the US’ efforts to end Russia’s war in Ukraine. The testy Trump-Zelensky sit-down may yield a signed deal that would exchange US access to Ukraine’s mineral resources for security guarantees.

Though the group of pool reporters in the Oval Office was hand picked, the White House has denied the TASS staffer was permitted entry.

MTG's Boyfriend and Russia.

But no Reuters and AP because AP wouldn't call the Gulf of Mexico by its fake name.

A couple contrarian views about Canada:

1) The healthcare isn't great.  Sure, Canadians will brag about it to Americans because they have an irrational fear of the US system which isn't perfect, but is better*, but Ontario just had its election last night and featured a debate where the leaders were bemoaning "hallway medicine" again since they don't have enough money to tax out of people (who also can't afford to rent/own homes) to pay for beds:

https://www.youtube.com/live/abwZpzG5Q0c?feature=shared

2) The NDP in Ontario last night, and federally in the polls, is tanking because Jagmeet Singh, its federal leader, propped up Justin Trudeau as he drove the country into the ground with his policies.  The Liberals are planning the same platform for this year's federal election under a different spokesman (and yes, it'll be the dude -- a rich global banker who clearly understands the plight of the poors!) which is why they're spiking in the polls.

3) The left in Canada is now fed by baby boombers.  If you work and pay into the system, you're more likely to be a conservative these days if 18-30 than any other time during the prior 30 years.

(eg https://abacusdata.ca/canadian-politics-shifting-landscape-february-27/)

* lived under both systems, finally have a family doctor in the US

The US system is not better and it's not even close there are over 30 million people without any health insurance.  In Canada everyone has health insurance.  Plus, the US is the only first world country where medical bankruptcy is a thing.

China's biggest gift was Trump winning, Europe and Russia will be preoccupied fighting each other, both will suffer as a result, Russia will become a vassal state of China, the Trump admin stupidly believes they can bring Russia out of China's influence which has failed every single time it has been attempted, China is watching America destroy all its relationships and isolate itself, American allies questioning their alliances with America. I don't think China wants to see Europe destroyed but it is in their best interest to see America and Europe's relationship completely breakdown. China will try to worm their way into Europe. They will apply pressure to America's former allies in the Asia region and now don't even need to do it militarily, though it's not like Trump will protect them even if it was militarily.
