What are you taking about? 4 of the last 8 presidents, dating back almost 50 years, were governors.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Lmao.

During the 2016 U.S. presidential election, Vance was an outspoken critic of Republican nominee Donald Trump. In a February 2016 USA Today column, he wrote that "Trump's actual policy proposals, such as they are, range from immoral to absurd." In the Atlantic and on the PBS show hosted by Charlie Rose, Vance called Trump "cultural heroin" and "an opioid of the masses." In October 2016, he called Trump "reprehensible" in a post on Twitter, and called himself a "never-Trump guy." In a private message on Facebook he called Trump "America's Hitler".

Another Mike Pence, Lol. Harris will rip this dude apart.

Useless pick, so many better choices, thank God Trump wanted a yes-man.

Vance won't be able to keep his mouth shut either which won't work well with Trump pretending to be "unity" now.

God the Democrats need to clip all these soundbites, all these comments, in multiple ads.

"Bu-Bu! Dems are using dangerous rhetoric! It's their fault there's violence cause mean words!"

Trumps VP Pick: Trump is Hitler. 🫠

Newsom must be aware that few governors ever become president. The Executive puts you in the spotlight for crisis management while being in the Legislative you can safely take shots from the stands and not suffer as much attrition. His was always a long shot.

To be fair, few of anyone becomes president.

45 people have been president, out of like 500 million.

Two Putin bootlickers on the ticket.

Of all the candidates to pick for VP he definitely picked one of the worst imo. Scott, Rubio, or Haley could have gained him a few undecided or less motivated votes. At least now I won't have to suffer watching Scott humiliate himself licking Trump's balls as much in the future. Also at least he didn't make a truly insufferable pick like Lake or Greene. I don't see Vance doing anything to help his numbers and only hurting him if Dems are smart and play his sound bites against Trump nonstop in the run up to election.

Haley would have won him the election. Youngkin, Scott, Rubio would have been better than Vance.

Feels like only the dog killer would have been a worst choice.

Vance is just a duller Trump, another white dude who underperformed in his own elections, he won't bring in any voters that Trump doesn't already have and the Democrats have dozens of soundbites to use against him already, he's very much a yes-man, feels like a worse choice than Pence and Vance will be a huge liability if Trump wants to pretend to be a unity candidate now because Vance can't keep his mouth shut. It'll be dangerous if he gets into power but specifically about how he helps Trump's chances, it feels like, not at all, it's just doubling down on their already crazy base.

Dangerous if he gets in power, utterly useless to Trump's re-election chances though.

“I think the combination of porn, abortion have basically created a lonely, isolated generation that isn’t getting married, they’re not having families, and they’re actually not even totally sure how to interact with each other,” Vance said in a newly unearthed interview with Crisis Magazine from August 2021.

The writer spoke with Vance at a gathering for young conservatives where Vance was a keynote speaker. She wrote that after asking him “his thoughts on porn and birth control and their effects on familial decline, Vance admitted he wants to outright ban pornography.”

J.D. Vance On Porn: Ban It To Save Families | HuffPost UK Politics

Mr. Vance opposes abortion rights, even in the case of incest or rape, but says there should be exceptions for cases when the mother’s life is in danger. He praised the U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade. As he ran for Senate in 2022, a headline on the issues section of his campaign website read simply: “Ban Abortion.”

Mr. Vance has been one of the leading opponents of U.S. support for Ukraine in the war with Russia. “I think it’s ridiculous that we’re focused on this border in Ukraine,” he said in a podcast interview with Stephen K. Bannon, the former Trump adviser and longtime ally. “I’ve got to be honest with you, I don’t really care what happens to Ukraine one way or the other.”

“I think the election was stolen from Trump,” Mr. Vance said during the Republican primary for his Ohio seat, putting him firmly in the camp of election deniers.

Mr. Vance has said climate change is not a threat and has said he is skeptical of the scientific consensus that warming of the earth’s atmosphere is caused by human activity.

J.D. Vance Is Closely Aligned With Trump on Key Issues - The New York Times

In April 2022, Trump endorsed Vance. “J.D. is kissing my ass he wants my support so bad,” Trump later said.

Lmao.

He has said that if he had been in Mike Pence’s shoes in 2021, he would not have certified the results of the 2020 election: “If I had been vice president, I would have told the states, like Pennsylvania, Georgia and so many others, that we needed to have multiple slates of electors and I think the U.S. Congress should have fought over it from there,” he said in February.

He has encouraged Trump to defy the Supreme Court if the justices prevent him from firing executive branch officials.

Basically another lunatic.

"But Dems keep saying democracy is in danger!!"
