I really don't have a fucking clue if Dems need to stick with Biden or switch to Harris.

Think the issue is no matter what happens, Dems are voting Dem and MAGA are voting MAGA and absolutely nothing will change that fact and the independents won't decide until much closer to election so we're seeing polls barely changing until then, aside from slight temporary boosts.

Yeah, it seems like the Dem candidate doesn't really matter too much when they are placed against Trump. It would be nice if anything mattered but it seems the effect is so minimal it gets lost in polling error. Because of that, Biden won't step down and we'll be stuck in this mess of a race.

All I feel I can really do at this point is vote blue (no matter who) and hope those few independents come to their senses in November.

Biden desperately needs to get inflation down somehow and I think Project 2025 is finally starting to become a good attack angle because it has finally entered the mainstream, now I hope this recent event doesn't cause Democrats to become cowards and lay off on hammering Project 2025 onto Trump because the facts remain the same, Project 2025 is a dire future for America.

Continue hammering home about Roe v Wade and women having their rights ripped away by Republicans.

I think Democrat Politicians might actually be doing more damage to Biden than the debate did, Lol. But him dying mid-term is a concern that really, there's no way they can argue that one away, maybe people grow bored of it by November though. This Trump image is damaging, it makes him look strong and defiant, some people love that, even if it turns out the guy was a Republican, Trump now looks like a "badass" to some and they will literally vote for him solely on that or giving him a sympathy vote.

It's going to be a (disgustingly) close race, if I could, I'd sooner vote for Biden's rotting corpse and his team than Trump, Lol.

I feel like inflation is already a success story, but people are always going to be noticing the increases in costs from four years ago. Just over the last two months, real hourly earnings have increased 0.9% (which is a huge increase) and while there were a couple negative months earlier in the year, we are still positive. However, people see increases in costs as something outside their control and increases in wages as something they earned, so they won't really give Biden credit for that. Kind of a no win situation, but I think Biden has made it into as much of a win as possible. He just needs messaging at this point, which unfortunately is his biggest weakness.

I agree with everything else. I've honestly been sick about it for the last couple months and I doubt it'll get better...

Oh, I also wanted to say, I feel like Biden's age should be a benefit to people who hate Trump and Biden. It just means that Biden is more likely to be replaced sooner rather than later. While I'm not all in on Kamala, I'd vote for her over Biden (and obviously Trump), so that isn't something that really worries me...

Democrats should immediately put forth gun control legislation, a total ban on AR-15. The angle they should take is Biden will return America back to normalcy, pre-Trump and all this chaos. I doubt Trump will stay quiet for long, he will be going on his insane ramblings soon enough. Maybe some independents will be swayed because they're just sick of this...Whatever the fuck is happening to America. Biden represents the old ways of America, before all this insanity, Trump came into the scene and America has been rapidly declining ever since, take out Trump one more time and his political career is essentially over. You run that Biden is boring as shit but he represents order, Trump represents chaos.

To compare to the UK elections.

Tories haven't been anything but "boring" but that isn't a good thing, they've brought utter fucking chaos to the UK and everyone was sick to the teeth of them, Keir by comparison is a dull MOFO, that dude comes across boring as shit, everyone thinks he's boring, Labour was sitting on the fence like mad during the election but everyone is just tired of the chaos and now boring is a goddamn relief, boring is good, we want boring. We want order. Maybe Democrats can position themselves like that but not if they're fighting each other.

Sarah D'Angelo, a former classmate of Trump shooting suspect Thomas Matthew Crooks at Bethel Park High in Pennsylvania, said Crooks had not broadcast any strong political views in school.

"He never outwardly spoke about his political views or how much he hated Trump or anything," she said in an interview Sunday morning. D'Angelo, who graduated from the same high school as Crooks in 2022 said he had "a few friends," but "didn't have a whole friend group." She recalled him playing games on his laptop during homeroom before the school day began.

The shooter from former President Donald Trump's rally on Saturday had explosive material inside his car and residence, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

CNN Politics

This is starting to sound like your typical American mass shooter...Donated to Democrats then registered as Republican, wears the shirt of a pro-gun/right-leaning YouTube channel, no obvious political leanings in High School...Has explosives and shot more than one person...Just looks like he wanted to do a mass shooting and the Trump rally was the "perfect" target for his mind.

Fits the profile of most mass shooters in America.

Maybe they'll find a motive, if it's the case that he's just your typical nutjob mass shooter, I suspect America will once again ignore the issue.

So I think I know what this is. Buckle up. There is a belief among some on the right that there needs to be a second civil war. They belive that the country is on the cusp and that they need to push us into this conflict. What better way than to take out Trump.

If this is the case it was clearly not thought out because they still would have killed him had he succeeded. I don't know how he was gonna blame this on the left....

The other theory is that some Republicans think Trump isn't 'Republican' enough. Which is scary on its face. They could be going after him for trying to distance himself from project 2025.

Based on evidence so far it leans towards him just being your average Republican but ultimately a messed up kid and your typical American mass shooter, no political agenda, he just wanted to cause chaos and left or right, killing Trump would do that and he'll go out in a "blaze of glory". The focus should therefore be on bullying, mental health support and further gun restrictions but it won't be.
