Yup.

Fun fact: Sony would make sure it's only for the PlayStation 6.

No no, they'll allude to that stating they believe in generations just to announce cross-gen last minute 😉

I wonder if this gen will be a little longer because of it, it's weird to think of it this way but most AAA dev teams will only release 1 title for the entire gen. The few that'll manage 2 will most likely see themselves having produced a cross-gen title from the 8th to the 9th and then doing another cross-gen title from the 9th to the 10th XD.

I was wondering the same thing and I came to the conclusion that no, it will not be longer. My reasoning is: while games take longer, hardware getting better is still as fast (or even faster than before), in 2 or 3 years the basic GPU coming out of NVidia/AMD is going to be like what? 40 or 50 shaders TF (without AI/RT) at the low level?

Or... maybe the mid-gen upgrade will have to be way better than last time if they want to go for a longer generation but then what about the Series S...

My 2 cents

Fuck me. That sucks.

Company of Heroes 3 must have bombed.

That is nearly half the studio.

Might affect Age of Empires support temporarily too.

Atlus eventually did it. Now we wait 5 years for SMT mainline ports.

^^^Tomorrow Persona 6 exclusively on PlayStation.

I'll be fair to Atlus and assume that Persona 6 exclusivity was signed years ago, Persona 5 did come out in f*cking 2016, Lol.

Very well could have signed multiple games or signed Persona 6 before Persona even came to Xbox Series.

Nah F that, still blaming Spencer when it happens tomorrow.

Microsoft should offer to buy Relic from Sega.

Feels one more flop away from closure or merging into Creative Assembly with a layoff that big.

I'll give them credit, at least they actually listened, unlike many other developers who make people port beg on Twitter but then do absolutely nothing, oh just beg us if you want an Xbox port, a year later, beg us some more, a year later, fill out this survey if you're interested in us porting to your platform.

This sounds fishy. If the game comes out on Xbox the same day as the other platforms it will just mean that it was planned to come to Xbox from the start. Why this drama was even needed though and what they tried to achieve here? Maybe to use this as their game’s PR?

Not even out yet on consoles though.

Their main market is on PC of course.

This really does suck, I think the industry overall should reform a little on this, Studios are highly and predominantly an artistic-based industry, and one profit rarely or only marginally comes at another expanse and as such they should be able to make their own resources available for contractual work without suffering from increase competitiveness from those studios who contract them.

This could be done directly or through a specialized agency that would handle necessary NDAs. This would avoid the unfortunate result of mass layoff and reduce the optics of talents, victims of such, possibly leaving the industry altogether.

Anyway, that's just a thought.
