Amazon Luna only launched in UK last month but this just shows how stupid CMA's whole argument is.
Using the same logic that CMA uses that all Game Pass Ultimate subscribers are part of the xCloud market then all Amazon Prime members are part of the Luna market and just like that, in a month, Microsoft's xCloud "60-70%" market share has been demolished by Amazon's 18m Prime users in UK alone.
Game Pass Ultimate would have to have 18m subscribers in UK alone just for it to be a 50/50 split of the market between xCloud and Luna but that would have to ignore the other Cloud companies, no doubt, Luna by CMA's own logic is now the biggest though, unless we genuinely believe that Game Pass has 18m subs in UK.
As some are pointing out as well, how can CMA claim that Cloud Gaming is a separate market whilst also claiming that Cloud Gaming will cannibalise native game sales? Cloud Gaming is NOT a separate market Imo, it's a delivery system for the current Gaming Market.
The amount of holes in CMA's logic, the amount of guesswork and baseless speculation of future markets way beyond 5 years (when they aren't meant to go beyond 5 years), holding xCloud to different standards than Luna, ignoring all the companies in the actual Cloud market who are in favour of the deal and pretending to know better than them, whilst taking everything that Google/Sony says at face value.
It's very frustrating and there's nothing that Microsoft can do about it.
