Define "review poorly" here though.  B/c combat looked underwhelming, but everything around it seemed interesting.

I would not say the combat looked underwhelming, it just looked way to easy from the videos.  Its hard to guage but the gun play an how the weapons seem to perform looked good in my opinion.  Even one of the main bosses during some of the play videos did not give me that vibe like they pose a big challenge but then again for demo purpose they could be playing on easy or something similar to showcase specifics abilities etc.

Imagine if we were on forums during RROD...Wonder what that was like.

Like Ryuu mentioned, I was talking about Benedict Fox.  Something about how Benedict can spam shots & that cheap M1 Garand reload sound effect wasn't doing it for me.  

Though I would extend that to Redfall as well.  I'm still in the "cautiously optimistic" camp.

Lol, well I stand corrected.  I must say I have not seen a lot of video on Benedict Fox so cannot really comment on that game.
