When you come back to this thread and see 60+ new comments expecting big news related to the ABK deal just for the conversation to revolve around Hi-FI Rush.

For HI-FI rush just the coverage and praise the title received makes it a success for MS.

They could do it in private as well but it's even better to publicly support them, I felt bad when Josh spoke about Pentiment being leaked, I also remember Joe Neate from Rare called out Jez before for leaking (I think Pentiment, actually) but swiftly deleted his tweet. Neate made a post about how shitty it is to leak stuff, it's a shame he deleted his tweet, Lol.

It's pretty surprising still, like I said, not really recommended to comment on rumours, I wonder if Microsoft is getting sick of them, Lol. I think Grubb sort of implied earlier last year that Microsoft was mad at him leaking a bunch of projects. And they need to tread carefully with f*cking Bethesda, Lmao. Bethesda doesn't play with leakers with kiddy gloves like Microsoft does.

Honestly, after this ABK deal is done, MS needs to stop treating these game "journalists" so damn nice. You'll have enough market leverage that you damn sure don't need to be bending over backwards for them. You wanna keep leaking shit, and running non-stop doombait articles about Xbox, fine...no early access for covering Elder Scrolls, CoD, whatever Blizzard games, and so on and so on. Fuck around and find out, jackasses. There will be influencers, and other, less clickbaity sites out there more than happy to pick up the slack and take some of YOUR marketshare.

Yeah, I don't think he is lying about this. Aaron never really lies, he just bends the truth a little bit sometimes. For instance his comments on Quantum Break's release being successful seemed really suss at the time, and indeed we never got a sequel, despite Shannon Loftis saying Xbox wanted to make a sequel and Remedy wanting to make a sequel.

But you can't really truth bend by saying that HiFi Rush was a breakout hit in all key measurements and expectations. He would be far more elusive with his statement, talking up certain engagement metrics like Gamepass player count while avoiding sales, but instead he basically says it exceeded expectations in all metrics.
