Goddamnit. Big loss for Xbox.

I wonder if the combination of working on the mess of Halo Infinite, all that effort to try to fix it, only to watch his entire team be fired contributed to his decision to leave Microsoft as a whole. It certainly feels like it with this timing, I saw his Twitter after the layoffs and all he was focusing on was helping his team find new work. It probably hit him personally.

I'll miss him, he was one of the best faces of both XGSP and 343i while he was there.

Bet he joins Jar of Sparks, LOL.

Would love to see him join Certain Affinity but they in Texas so, not impossible but unlikely.

343s days are numbered and rightfully so.

Joe left 343i months ago and returned to XGSP.

Kingdom Hearts Diary Day 5: My time in KH 1 has ended. What a journey... Met two of the most annoying party members and some pretty cool side characters.Exploring the different worlds and seeing how the characters interacted was one of the best parts. Wonderland was probably my least favorite and Atlantica was probably my favorite. Story was pretty nonsensical. Bosses were pretty cool, I liked the ability to climb on some of them to target weak points. Combat got a little better over time as well; free form fights in Neverland, Atlantis were a nice mix up as well. Music was pretty great as well, not complaints in that regard. Disney and FF characters had a nice blend as well.

To work on Battlefield...I hope not, Lol. But it would be possible, I know Joe had a falling out with Marcus after Halo 2 which caused Joe to leave Bungie temporarily and why he wasn't the Lead Writer of Halo 3 but they're friends still and tensions were high due to how awful Halo 2's development was.

Bungie is probably unlikely considering they treated his work like crap and that was the reason he left in the first place, Lol. Not impossible though.

Jar of Sparks would continue a trend of NetEase taking 343i employees so I'd not be surprised, and a new studio might be better for Joe.

Fuck I really wish it could have been Certain Affinity, Max and Joe back together.

• According to Jez the new Blizzard survival game is actually called "odyssey", not just a codename, he says he's 90% sure of it
• Jez thinks it's gonna be multiplatform, he says "me saying it's gonna be multiplat isn't based on anything I've heard" "it's so close to being completed in a multiplat context that it doesn't make any sense to pull it, but I could be completely wrong". so he's not sure whether it'll be multiplat or exclusive to Xbox/PC, later on he says it may be exclusive.
• Jez: "from what I've seen it's not gonna be super graphically intensive, it has stylized art cartoony sort of overwatchy" "what I saw is very very early footage", "what I saw kinda gave me the impression that it's gonna be the stylized fairy tale kind of art"

Overwatch and Diablo won't receive another release for a very very long time and the Survival IP is close to completion.

Removing the Console SLC makes even more sense 👀 No exclusives from Activision, no exclusives from Blizzard, at least for a very long time.
