One thing is for sure, the 2027 and 2028 release slates have been hit pretty hard today. Everwild, Blackbird, and Perfect Dark were likely all games that would have released in 2027 or 2028.

What remains for 2027 and 2028 now should be:

Likely
-CoD 2027
-CoD 2028
-Marvel's Blade
-Clockwork Revolution (they chose not to put a 2026 date on the Summer Showcase trailer, which likely means it will be 2027)

Possible
-TES 6 (Holiday 2028 is possible, depends on just how much the small team working on it from 2018 until 2023 got done during pre-production, and on how much they have staffed up BGS since Starfield released)
-Project Mara (assuming it's still in development, we've heard nothing about it now for 3+ years from any official or unofficial source)
-Halo 1 Remake

Fairly barren 2 years, hopefully they at least get some big day one 3rd party Gamepass deals to make up for the lacking 1st/2nd party slate.

Halo 1 remake looks to be 2026 according to Phil at the showcase, but I'm not gonna take his word for it.

That seems like too fast a turnaround time for a AAA these days, they only began work on it in 2023. 3 years is crazy fast for a AAA in the 2020's, even for a remake. But even if the plan was 2026 originally, I would assume some 2026 will now be delayed into 2027 to help fill in the gaps.

This appears to be just an educational guess given his age lol. Idk how he can remain still with a straight face

How did Perfect Dark get cancelled before Concord?

When it's an old beloved IP that people have been asking to be revived for a long time, it's especially frustrating since that means they probably won't risk trying to revive it again for many years.

Xbox/MS support Israel/Pro Gen AI. 9k layoffs. How the fuck does anyone want to support this shit brand and company anymore? It's time to stop supporting anything MS/Xbox; otherwise, you're just enabling them.

You main an Xbox so pipe down.

I know this is beyond frustrating, and the last thing we have is any say on how Microsoft conducts business, but at the end of the day, we're just consumers to these corporations.

Painfully, this will blow over to majority of the gaming playerbase, and things will continue as usual. If you want to leave Empire (honestly don't even want to call it that anymore) it'll be completely understandable.

This isn't how we all thought Xbox would transpire. They had all the pieces to finally compete properly only to have the rug pulled out from under them.

I only ask for everyone to be kind to each other as there are thousands of now unemployed people that have way worse than we do.

This thread was once like a community to me, like a little family on the internet, even though I fucking despise Microsoft and Xbox right now, I still enjoyed talking about videogames I was playing in this thread and seeing what others were playing and their thoughts on videogames because I love videogames! Lol. I love to have a place to talk about my favourite games or what I'm enjoying with people I'm familiar and comfortable with and I hope I can continue doing that once the rage subsides.

But Xbox to me is nothing more than a plastic box which is a means to play my videogames, it is unfortunately where my library and achievements reside though, I'm not going to lie, a part of me considers switching to PlayStation but I don't particularly like Sony either, Lmao. And I can easily imagine myself 10 years down the line from now raging at Sony for similar reasons too, these public American focused corps are all the same. Plus losing all my library but more, losing all my achievements fills me with sadness.

I think I would be happier on PC/Steam but the complexities of PC Gaming scare me and not being a simple plug and play into the PC is a bit tedious. But at least Valve isn't ran by dickheads and my library will be safe and my achievements still available on PC. Plus I will feel like I'm supporting Microsoft a little less which will probably make me happier too because fuck these assholes, Lol. End of the day it's all about the games, I will support the games because I love games, I will support the developers, it's a shame that Microsoft has forgot about that simple fact.

Do I switch to PS and lose everything, and likely end up raging at Sony down the line too, or do I suck up PC Gaming's complexities and switch to that where I'll likely end up happier even if it's a bit more effort. I'd need to buy a new PC and stick it into my TV. And if I go down that route, my only gaming devices will be Switch 2 and PC. And if I miss out on GTA 7 for a year then so be it, I'm not going to miss out on GTA 6 because I will still be using my current Xbox Series X for the time being.

This decision would be a lot easier if I lived with someone who was already a big PC Gamer

Also I need to find someone to buy my Halo statues, Lol.

Oh god no, we don’t want you. You’re going down with the ship son even if I gotta puncture your life jacket.

"A source close to the situation has told Variety that every game featured at Xbox Games Showcase presentation in June is continuing on."

Xbox has more than 40 projects in active development

How the fuck do they still have 40 projects in active development.

Them saying this doesn't mean shit when they'll cancel a bunch every time Satya wants to drive the stock up some more, another 5 cancelled next year, then the year after, oh Satya wants to fund AI some more, another 5 cancellations!

Switch to PS would purely be out of laziness to not have to deal with PC Gaming's complexities and liking Consoles "Plug and Play"

All I ultimately want is a platform to play videogames though, and PC has everything I want, Microsoft has pissed me off out of their ecosystem and I'm pretty sure Sony would do the same eventually so switching to them would probably be a bad idea. I'm just really fucking lazy and honestly a bit scared about switching to PC Gaming, Lmao.
