By the time GTA 6 releases, Xbox/PS will cost $1000. 
Well, this week has certainly been nightmare scenario territory for the video game industry forecast.

Why would MS take a hit when it's very evident that they have moved on from the console war. If MS cared, they would have priced dropped the Series X and S a long time ago if they really felt they could make up any market against Sony or Nintendo. That ship has sailed, and MS has moved on. Once most of you realize this than you can see where their direction is headed and it's not as a console OEM.
My bet is that MS drop out of being a console provider and concentrate on building their gaming platform on their strength which is the PC. Maybe they try going Valve route where you can put your PC into a Xbox gaming mode and deliver a console experience on a PC.
Xbox has an extremely strong shot now at Publisher of the Year with GTA VI out of the way.
Then (Predictions).
Maybe something unknown for August/September.
But now Fable's GOTY chances have been put in the dirt once again by GTA 6. 
I think Double Fine and maybe Gears Remaster can fill in August/September quite nicely.
GTA 6 getting pushed does not mean there will all of a sudden be a whole bunch of dollars available for other games in 2025.
It just means that a bunch of the dollars that would have been spent on gaming this year have disappeared.

Well you better get a pre order secured soon son. NS2 could possibly see a £50 price rise before the end of the year at this rate lol. Might aswell drag this gen out for 10yrs.
