Well, there will be a showcase at least lol
To add - I don't know about specific games appearing or not appearing, just heard about the event, basically.

Grubb also said that Tango's game will be there remember, but Jez hasn't mentioned that at all.
They just need to be very very clear that Starfield won't be here at this event and when we should expect it, the date of the Starfield showcase, and a reconfirmation of its date because if they don't do that then everyone will say it's delayed before they even announce the delay. So maybe they should put all of this in the Xbox Wire blogpost which will announce the event.
"We have an Xbox event for these titles and some new smaller announcements, Starfield won't be here but we will be doing a Starfield deep dive on XX-XX-2023 before its scheduled release in Early 2023 (if not delayed)."
If they announce the event through Xbox Wire without saying Starfield won't be there and come the event, Starfield isn't there = They'll be angry gamers.
If they announce the event through Xbox Wire and say Starfield won't be there but don't announce a date for the Starfield showcase = They'll be a lot of annoyance at the unknown.
If they announce the event through Xbox Wire but don't end it with confirming Starfield is still on track = Everyone will be assuming Starfield is delayed and banging on about that before the event.
Or shove a quick trailer in for Starfield at the end of the event with a release date announcement and further deep dive at the Starfield showcase on XX-XX-2023.
Don't fuck this up, Xbox, Lol.
"We have an Xbox event showcasing titles such as Redfall, Minecraft Legends, Forza Motorsport and many more including a few smaller announcements. Unfortunately Starfield won't be at this event but please look forward to a Starfield deep dive in February 2023 (example) before its scheduled release in Early 2023"
There we go.

Todd spent 30 minutes talking about Fallout 4 at E3.
How long will Microsoft let him speak for a "Developer Direct: Starfield" 🥵🥵🥵
Ryuu96 said: You know if none of this leaked and Xbox just randomly announced one day "we're having a showcase with these titles! We'll have a Starfield showcase later!" then I doubt people would be mad but now there's a bit of annoyance at a possibility that Starfield isn't there after weeks of hearing about this rumoured event which everyone assumed featured Starfield, Xbox is probably pissed off at Jez, again, Lol. |
Isn't that the big problem with rumors. First people get mad that MS leaks stuff to much, then get mad when they do not leak anything. Next people getting all worked up about something that may or may not be true. Lol, it's like you know the games will be coming but you are so starved for info because people continue to rely on rumors and what not needing their daily fix. At the end of the day, MS and Bethesda will release info on Starfield when its ready. Until that time, I see no reason to care about a rumor, get upset that some future rumor isn't the anticipated rumor or get hyped about a rumor that may or may not be true or even wish that a rumor is exactly what I believe it should be then get disappointed when it doesn't achieve my lofty goal of what MS should or should not do.
End of January is going to be an eventful week.
Quarterly Report on the 24th.
Xbox Direct on the 25th.
Likely CMA's Preliminary Report and EC's Statement of Objections (if any).
I hate speculating on rumors but IF Starfield is getting it's own dedicated event, that is a good thing

If Bethesda is this confident, be excited

My excitement would be heightened if there was official announcements.
Right now, it's still all just speculation.
LEAVING SOON:#XboxGamePass

Looks like We Happy Few is leaving Game Pass! Likely has to do with publishing rights, as it was published by Gearbox, not Xbox Game Studios/Xbox Game Publishing
Still, not every day you see a 1st party IP leave the service! pic.twitter.com/ALcmz5jiTW
