I should stack up my Game Pass for a few extra years

Can you still do that? I think a price increase will come after June Showcase.

A Minecraft Movie’s “Steve's Lava Chicken” song, sung by star Jack Black himself, has made its way to the coveted Billboard Hot 100 Chart in the United States. Yeah, you read that right.

What a shit generation across the board.

I've said before as well that we're going to get to a point soon where consoles price advantage over PC becomes no longer an advantage and it is a pretty big advantage to have, like at a certain point, consoles will be so pricey that they'll be only available to the biggest enthusiasts and those tend to be people with more money, and they'll be a certain tipping point where even if PCs still cost a decent bit more than consoles, the console price will be so high that people will see it as a bit like "Well, I might as well get a PC if I'm going to be spending this much"

Of course there's still other factors that push people more to console than PC but the price is a significant one.

After an exclusive look at The Outer Worlds 2, it's clear that this sequel isn’t just aiming to be bigger, it’s gunning to be a better RPG from every angle.

I'm internally debating with myself whether I should bite the bullet on Switch 2 now as well because once Sony increases their hardware prices as well, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo eventually increases their hardware prices if this tariff madness isn't stopped soon, Nintendo however has a small backup with Vietnam while Microsoft/Sony rely entirely on China.

But I still see a scenario where (not before launch) Nintendo Switch 2 price increases...Maybe in the Holiday. Maybe after they get the initial launch batch out of the door and break some records. Suppose it depends on how much Vietnam can cover their asses but I also read that Nintendo didn't price tariffs into their hardware price at all and absolutely no company is eating 100%+ tariffs and I'm pretty sure Nintendo's profit margin on Switch 2 isn't enough to cover a 100% extra charge, Lol. So again, it all comes down to Vietnam supply.

Nintendo did off-set costs by increasing costs on accessories across the board and of course videogame prices but I don't think that will be enough either in the long-term if this madness isn't stopped soon. I went from no Switch 2 at launch to "Ah shit I might have to buy Switch 2 at launch because I'll end up saving money" Lol.

For me the price was never the issue it was the issues in general I had with PC gaming. Discord not recognizing mic randomly, controller disconnecting from PC, static/voice breaking on mic when I'm not even that far from my PC, games not working for random reasons. I hate the way every other game has like a three step process for exiting the game. No easy way to use the controller to control the whole system. If my friends get online I have to use a mouse and keyboard to get into their discord and it's not easy to do when I'm in a game. It's just not a very friendly user experience. I would pay more for a console than a PC just for the friendly user experience and no issues. These are all things I had to deal with and I've been in work in IT desktopserver support for like 15 years now. I can't even imagine how crazy this stuff would make the average consumer.

Yeah the price hike was visible on market stores in Europe (France etc) this morning.

While not Xbox related Tim Sweeney is teasing some big news, guess related to Apple.

Yeah, I agree with all of this, "ease of access/use" is the other significant factor as to why people go with consoles over PC, I was just noting that price is also another significant factor or rather, it used to be, at some point it won't be anymore and I wonder how that will help PC with the more enthusiast console audience. For me personally, I would have said price and everything you said were two factors as to why I opted for consoles instead of PC amongst other reasons but price, again for me personally, is quickly not becoming a factor, Lol.

Man. WTF.

I'm not really attached to Polygon but obviously goes without saying people losing their jobs sucks but I also thought Polygon was like, one of the biggest. In other shitty news, GiantBomb's new owners are being assholes and one of their demands is to stop all livestreaming from Giantbomb now which sounds fucking daft.
