Along the way, we expanded the franchise in new ways and welcomed over 10 million new players—reaching an incredible milestone of 60 million Age of Empires players worldwide. In just four months since launch, Age of Empires Mobile has captivated millions of players worldwide

Big news for Age of Empires IV players! Last year we shared we were working on new DLC for Age of Empires IV, and now we’re back with even better news. We’re not rolling out one DLC in 2025 – we’re actually rolling out two! The first of these two DLCs, Knights of Cross and Rose, is set to launch this spring. This DLC brings fresh new gameplay experiences to the Age IV community, allowing players to lead two well-known armies inspired by history and offering a solo mode that will challenge even the most skilled strategists.

It's only because it's not mainstream enough but World's Edge seriously don't get enough credit for how they've been the caretakers of the Age of Empires IP over the years, they've hit the mark on quality, quantity and success, they've partnered with great studios and they've handled the IP with care, the amount of content constantly coming from Age of is awesome to see.

In 2025.

  • Age of Mythology: Retold Expansion
  • Age of Empires II: DE and Age of Mythology: Retold Ports to PS5
  • Age of Empires II: DE Expansion
  • Two New DLCs For Age of Empires IV + New Modes.
  • Age of Empires Mobile Support

Juggling between supporting Age of Empires II: DE, Age of Empires IV, Age of Mythology Retold and even Age of Empires III until recently, it honestly didn't make much sense to support all of them, I don't even care about them killing support for Age of Empires III because they're already supporting 3 other Age of titles, Lol.

Over 6 years they've released 4 titles across Console/PC - Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, Age of Empires IV, Age of Mythology: Retold / 1 Mobile Title - Age of Empires: Mobile / Successfully ported Age of to Console without compromise (II, IV and Mythology Retold) / Successfully revived Age of Mythology 22 years after its last release.

Best selling DLC ever for Age of Empires with Age of Empires IV's expansion, 86% on Steam for IV and 83 Opencritic, 89% for Mythology Retold on Steam and 83 Opencritic, 84% on Steam for III DE and 79 Opencritic, 94% on Steam for II DE and 85 Opencritic. Age of Empires IV hitting the highest CCU on Steam. II DE is still hitting 20k peaks, IV is still hitting 10k peaks.

If Age of IPs were more mainstream then World's Edge would be called one of Xbox's best studios.

Microsoft's Q2/Spring should make them happy, Lol.

  • Forza Horizon 5 for PS5
  • Age of Empires II for PS5
  • Indiana Jones for PS5
  • South of Midnight in April
  • Doom: The Dark Ages in May

All in Spring time. Should pump those numbers up.

Not to mention the high likelihood that majority, if not all, of these games will also be ported to Switch 2.

Absolutely! It warms my heart seeing Age go from a dead IP to one of Xbox's marquee franchises in such a short amount of time.
