the Xbox year in review is here. This year Microsoft highlights your preferred gaming platform, total time played, and number of games played. There’s even a little shout-out from Xbox chief Phil Spencer, too www.xbox.com/year-in-review

Won't be posting mine until January 1st...You know...When it's actually the end of 2024, not December.

Triggered me that these things are always made available in December.

Layden - "I would like to see a world where you can get back to 18 to 23 hours of gameplay"

So, yeah. Uh, it doesn't matter if a new game is 10 hours or 100 hours if no one cares because they're just dumping all their time into Fortnite, Minecraft, Call of Duty, Roblox and Grand Theft Auto.

This happened last years and I completely forgot about it. When I check the Year in Review, it's says Sims 4 is my most played game. My wife plays it, but doesn't sign me out when she logs into her account. I really don't care, but it always confuses me at first glance lol.

Hmm the amount of deals has been great but the deals itself are a bit meh.  Still I got :

- The adventures of Elena Temple
- Lego Marvel Collection
- Owlboy

Finally a proper explanation as to why the Xbox mobile store keeps getting delayed and why you can't purchase games on the Xbox app. Essentially, Xbox REALLY needs Epic Games to win their case against Google. Article from Tom Warren:

It's not as simple as "Steam and PS do it" As always, the reality between Microsoft's and Google's statements here is somewhere in the middle. Microsoft used to allow you to buy games in the Xbox mobile app on Android, but it removed the functionality in 2020 when it decided to add remote console streaming to the app. Google's Play Store policies mean Microsoft would have to give up a 30 percent cut if it wanted to allow Xbox players to buy games in an Android app and then also play them.
Google "allows customers to purchase digital content using non-Google commerce systems in a native app — but only if the content is not consumed in the app, e.g., a customer can use Sony's PlayStation app to purchase (but not to play) digital games," says Microsoft in a court filing last month. That explains why Sony and Valve both offer the ability to buy games in their Android apps but run separate streaming apps for remote play.
