If anyone acquires Gearbox, let this finally be the time to give Randy the boot.

^ Why is that article tagged Microsoft tho, Lol.

MS been on a buying spree and it generates clicks putting the MS tag on there I'd assume.

The last time Gearbox was trying to sell (before Embracer got them) it was reported that Microsoft was interested but only if Randy stepped down, that the final deal fell through because Randy didn't want to step down.

Honestly, I see their point, Randy is a toxic bellend and an idiot, God he'd be so out of place in Microsoft, I honestly wouldn't want them to acquire Gearbox for multiple reasons, Randy being one of them but also, while I'm a huge fan of Borderlands, it's pretty much Gearbox's only relevant IP nowadays and since Take-Two owns the publishing for it, their cost feels more than their worth.

Imo, if any publisher were to acquire them it makes most sense to be Take-Two.

Well, at least it's not a closure.

I'm guessing after all the stuff with Activision, then the layoffs, it made them want their independence back.

To make this news even more exciting, we’re exploring a possible partnership between our new studio and Microsoft. And while we’re in the early days of developing our next new game and a ways away from making any announcements, our team is excited to develop new stories, new characters, and new gameplay experiences.

Our friends at Activision and Microsoft have been extremely supportive of our new direction and we’re confident that we will continue to work closely together as part of our future.

Have MS buy them, so they can be under Xbox Game Studios umbrella instead of Activision.

That ResetEra insider who also leaked Pentiment being announced for Switch at the Direct did say that a Spyro was in development for Xbox/Switch so I'm assuming Toys for Bob is working on that.

But now I'm curious if they're working with Microsoft, does XGSP publish their next title or does Activision? It'd be funny to see XGSP publishing Spyro instead of Activision, Lol.

They're out of the COD mines now and I'm even more convinced that Activision itself is going to change completely into a COD only publisher, without Toys for Bob it basically already is that now.

I actually wonder what the legality of this is now, if Spyro is published by XGSP and developed by an independent Toys for Bob, will it come under the CMA/EC agreements still? Lol. We need Idas insight.

Well, it's not like Activision was releasing much else other than CoD these days lol. Vicarious Visions, the only other studio that wasn't working on CoD is now Blizzard Albany, and that only left Toys for Bob lol.
