NEW: Toys For Bob is going independent, following layoffs earlier this year and questions about its future. The studio may in fact even partner with Microsoft on its next game, the company announced today.

Well, at least it's not a closure.

I'm guessing after all the stuff with Activision, then the layoffs, it made them want their independence back.
