Stuff like this makes me even more assured that Xbox will be fine relying on Crystal Dynamics/Eidos for certain IP now and in the future, Embracer Group doesn't seem to be funding shit |
This is an odd move for sure, Embracer owns 3 different AAA capable publishers, THQ, Deep Silver, and Gearbox Publishing, and yet they went with Amazon. Amazon's offer must have been huge. Wonder where Deus Ex will end up?
Amazon buying Embracer Group confirmed!!

Blizzard must be running out of ideas for WoW if they're bringing Chris out of retirement just for Warcraft lol. The dude is an absolute legend!
Blizzard Entertainment veteran Chris Metzen is returning to the Warcraft franchise as a creative advisor. https://t.co/HlCJwsKRlh#Blizzard #WorldofWarcraft

I think Embracer are just being 'cheap' Tbh and letting someone else fund it rather than themselves, I don't think it means Amazon offered a massive amount, it's just that Amazon is willing to fund it and Amazon will keep it multiplatform, although I wouldn't be surprised now if we see Tomb Raider for Amazon Prime, a TV Show or something.
But I would say that, I would consider THQ Nordic to be more of a AA publisher with the rare AAA title but usually it's about as low in the AAA department as you can get, Gearbox should definitely be AAA capable considering all the money Borderlands brings in but I've yet to see them publish AAA titles and 2K publishes everything to do with Borderlands.
Deep Silver is more consistent, I'd still say that Tomb Raider likely exceeds all of their budgets though by a notable margin, I think we have Saints Row, Metro and Dead Island as Deep Silver's most expensive IPs...Dead Island's budget will be hard to say, likely massively inflated due to the poor management, Saints Row...Well...The recent one doesn't exactly look high budget, Lol.
I'd speculate that Metro is their most expensive IP budget-wise but I'd still speculate that Tomb Raider easily beats it.

Gameplay loop is the same. You spend time making friends(social links) and have to complete a dungeon before a certain date to advance. Collect demons, fuse them, etc.
