He's right. He's also a former 343 employee who was laid off. 😢

And it feels like every studio is trying to warn us of this but nothing is being done about it.

I honestly think he has a point too, I've often thought this but I think this is partly why Nintendo and Sony doesn't talk to their fans anywhere near as much as Xbox, you don't ever seeing Sony/Nintendo execs interacting this much with fans, some Xbox fans are acting like Phil Spencer personally divorced them, Lmao.

Anyway Xbox seems on board with this as a team.

Love seeing more people mentioning making the next Xbox a Windows machine

I'm not crazy!

Stripped back Windows OS running a custom version of Windows, call it Windows Gaming. Selling it at a profit would probably be fine. Allow the option of Steam on this machine. Merge the Xbox and PC stores into one store. They'd be next to no effort in a developer having to "port" a game because they're all already on PC. Transfer our digital licenses over to this new store. Basically just making another Xbox Console except it's using a custom Windows OS now and if I could also access Steam from that, I'd definitely be interested.

Make Windows actually interesting again.

I know you're right, Series X still offers me everything that I want so I might as well stick with it for the rest of the generation. But I'm so limited in knowledge on the PC front I might as well start learning now I have a gaming PC and never actually used it, Lol. There was a time a few years ago where I was considering playing some games on Steam.

I'll be buying a Switch 2 this year as well anyway.

My plan would be to wait and see what hardware MS has for next gen and then decide whether I want that or PC. There's still things about Xbox hardware even if it's totally multiplatform that I'd prefer over PC.

Regardless of what you do console wise in the future, since you already have everything you need in a gaming PC besides the GPU, I would just get one anyway.
Maybe you'll want to play certain games using mods, etc.

The recommended PSU for RTX 3060 and RTX 4060 is 550 watts. So your PSU should be fine.

MSRP for 4060 is $299.

Fuck is RTX 3060 and RTX 4060? Lmao.

And what resolution does my current one offer?

And what resolution do those two offer?

Honestly as well, I'd be nervous about changing the GPU

I'm going to ask a friend if he knows and if I ever do decide to swap it, I'll pay him off to do it for me LOL.

I'm hoping this is the way they go assuming they are even thinking about doing this - just hope b/c is involved with Xbox and Xbox 360 titles, make it where their library is the only library that has these specific games.

Swapping a GPU is one of the easiest things to do.

RAM is probably the one thing that's easier.

Actually not sure if transferring licenses would be viable now that I said it but MS could definitely do it for at least all the IP that they own.

Third parties tho might tell Microsoft to get stuffed and demand people rebuy their games, Lol.

So basically, Nvidia have their 'generations' of graphics cards.
You have one from the 1000 series. (1660 Super)

Then they released the 2000 series, then 3000 series, and most recently 4000 series.

Think of the '60' at the end of 4060 as an indication of tier within that series.

4060
4070
4080
4090

The higher the last two digits, the more powerful, and more expensive you can expect the card to be.
But like your GPU (1660 Super) they some times re-release stronger versions of the cards, adding a "Super" or "Ti" after.

The 3060 and 4060 are among the lower end of their respective series.
However they are quite powerful.

If you're gaming in 1080p or 1440p, you should be fine.

As for resolution, all those cards including yours support 4K if you want that. But the framerate gets lower the higher your resolution and details level.

The difference in fps between your card and 4060 varies depending on the game. But here's an example with Resident Evil 4.

Full video testing 17 games: https://youtu.be/5X7fdLAXibg?si=xTq3L8CxNIEkOvrE

If you have a friend that can do it, that may be safer if you're new to switching out components. But you could always take a look at a tutorial first and see if it seems easy for you or not.

Changing GPU is one of the easist things to do though when it comes to PC building.

Also their BC is just emulation so it's a bit baffling they never brought it to Windows Store anyway, even if it was just 1st party only, it would bring previously X360 exclusives to PC for the first time ever.
