Ryuu made the smart choice and jumped ship first he’s a hardcore laptop gamer now. 

I've played on PC my entire gaming life. Or at least it's been the most consistent gaming platform my entire gaming life. So this has never affected me much, but I got rid of my Xbox as soon as MS announced all their first party games would be on PC at launch.

So PC/Nintendo console will always be my main gaming combo. I got my PS5 recently out of pure luck, but once Sony does PC day in date, that console is being tossed too lol. I don't mind hardware consolidation.

It's unfortunate, but MS's goal for the Xbox platform to be making $30 billion in revenue by 2030 isn't going to happen if they keep everything just on Xbox and PC. I view it as AA and their big live service games as being multiplatform going forward. Maybe not at launch, but at least a year after launch.

Not really sure what you want me to say, I'm trying to enjoy my games, Lol.

Look, I care less and less about the whole console stuff, I care most about the games themselves (and Game Pass). I started with Xbox hardware because I liked their exclusives, I stayed with Xbox hardware because I continued to like their exclusives and when they started to do day one release onto PC and cross-play across Xbox/PC, I stayed on Xbox hardware for convenience (and because I've heard horror stories about Windows Store).

I'll continue to buy Xbox consoles as long as Microsoft continues to make them and I still believe we have at minimum another generation of Xbox hardware, likely even more if the switch to ARM is true (which is exciting in itself and opens up better streamlining between Xbox/PC) but I was always under the assumption it wouldn't last forever and Xbox's future would be everywhere, firstly via xCloud and then natively.

I'll stick to Xbox because I ain't waiting for years to exclusives to come to other platforms and for Game Pass and I won't go to PC just yet because quite frankly I can't be bothered with all that PC stuff but if the day comes that they stop making Xbox hardware, I'm simply going to take my Xbox profile over to PC and play games on PC instead, Lol.

This was a leaked Microsoft slide on what they consider for exclusives and this seems to be their plan moving forward.

How I read this would be.

Niche (It has a small community, it won't move consoles and it needs all the sales it can get) = Examples would be Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, As Dusk Falls, etc. These are multiplatform.

New IP/Dedicated Gamers/Single Player (These are likely AAA Single-Player Only titles, they can move consoles and they're also large enough to justify being only available on one platform, bring in enough sales, they are also "one and done" meaning they don't require continued updates) = Examples could be Avowed, Hellblade II, Fable, etc. These would be exclusive.

Mass Market Audience/Massive/Online (These are your large live service, GAAS/Multiplayer titles, they require as large a userbase as possible to keep the communities alive) = Examples would be Sea of Thieves, MMOs, Live-Service Multiplayer Titles, etc. These would be multiplatform.

End of the day, Xbox is changing into something more than a restrictive single console only focus, which I think will probably work out for them businesswise but whether you like it or not is your personal opinion, now I'll say again I don't think Xbox hardware is going anywhere anytime soon but even if they stopped doing Xbox hardware tomorrow, well, that's life for ya, nothing lasts forever, not even PlayStation will last forever but I don't see it as me losing anything Tbh since I'd just casually jump across to PC like some of my fellow gamers have done.

You want to swap to PC, that's fine. You want to play Xbox games on PlayStation or Switch, that's fine too. I've always tried to make it a point that this thread is open to everyone no matter how or where they experience Xbox IP whether that be PC or PlayStation or Nintendo. I'm trying to be less involved in "business this, business that" this year and just focus on actual enjoying the games especially when truth be told, I don't really feel a desire about any of this to scream or shout or be angry or upset, Lol, so I'm not sure what I'm meant to say.
