I'm going to Lmao if FTC is legit starting their court case with a lie, I really hope Microsoft has physical proof of these statements.

"While we believed in giving peace a chance, we have complete confidence in our case and welcome the opportunity to present our case in court."

If that Bethesda comment isn't backed up, if EC can't back FTC up on that, then Microsoft has already won and this will really damage the FTC's credibility.

We're in for a wild time, also so many industry secrets are going to be revealed, I'm looking forward to that part.

But FTC not providing a source while Microsoft does, definitely doesn't look good for them.

Tbh. Maybe they don't care about their arguments making sense, maybe their true intention is to push CMA into blocking the deal, or maybe they already know CMA will block the deal, that way FTC can sue with whatever dumb arguments they come up with, it won't matter if it never makes it to court and the way it doesn't make it to court is if CMA blocks the deal which would effectively kill the deal.

If that is their play, it's smart, if it isn't their play then this is a really stupid move.

I hope Legal Eagle will make a video on this. I'm certain he can give an honest unbiased but thoroughly formulated and thought out opinion on this.

FTC has a shit case if they are blocking this on the basis of “We don’t Believe you” and also lying on MS promises on Bethesda titles post release.

If this deal fails then what they are doing is saying that money-hatting is ok and acceptable so MS should go out there and Money-Hat established and big IP to keep it of PlayStation for 1-2 years.

Which is concerning because CMA from day 1 has seemed like they were on the warpath to block the deal. So things aren't looking good for Xbox if that is indeed the case.

Edit: Also updating my percentage of this deal passing to 25%. I don't have much faith in MS being able to get the CMA on board with the deal. So I essentially think this deal is going to die. Which sucks but at least it frees up cash for MS to buy someone else (particularly someone who isn't worth 70 billion dollars xD)
