NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

I'll miss his beard.

He did awesome work on Halo 5's Forge but admittedly Schorr's Halo Infinite Forge took that to another level, I liked Tom though, seemed like a cool dude. It's yet another big departure for 343i (Multiplayer Creative Director) and now we wait to see who takes up the role next. It's conflicting because I think mechanically Infinite is brilliant, but the content issues were/are pretty bad, didn't want him to leave though, he did more good stuff and I don't even know if we can blame him for the content issues, gameplay wise, the new mechanics, the equipment, it's brilliant.

$10 that he's joining frigging Jar of Sparks which has poached multiple senior 343i employees lately: Jerry Hook (Head of Design), Paul Crocker (Campaign Associate Creative Director), Stephen Dyck (Character Director), Greg Stone (Principal Lead Producer), Martin Deschambault (Associate Art Director). Microsoft is being clowned in their own backyard

NetEase is one to watch, they're doing the same in Japan too, they've hired Hiroyuki Kobayashi (Capcom Producer of 27 years) and they also set up a studio entirely around Toshihiro Nagoshi (Yakuza Creator). If Tom is leaving for Jar of Sparks, then Microsoft needs to start getting more competitive in their own area.

343 losing key employees right on a hiring freeze too, Lol.

Please acquire Certain Affinity/Skybox Labs the moment ABK is done...

The 343 shitshow is unbelievable, they should be the #1 studio on the XGS side no excuses anymore.

That could be the reason Tbh.

Or a restructuring but I thought we would have heard about that.

I wonder how much Certain Affinity and Skybox are hiring for their Halo teams.

That could explain why 343 thought it was a good idea to charge $18 for this weeks winter store bundle despite a year of fans telling them repeatedly to stop overcharging their cosmetics

I just bought the Frostbite bundle :P overpriced yes but so cool.

NetEase is smart, 343i has gone through a pretty rough development, likely a lot of employees burnt out on Halo, NetEase is probably coming to them with very competitive offers, take advantage of the studio that has been through the roughest patch is what it feels like, I respect the tactics

They're taking similar advantage of Japan it feels like, not so much rough development but Japanese wages are apparently low, a company like NetEase can easily offer better wages and more freedom, I almost think they might be a bit of a dark horse whilst everyone is focused on Tencent.

I do think 343 has made a lot of improvements lately but still a long way to go and this f*cking hiring freeze won't help, especially when losing key employees, Lol. 343 is losing people and not really hiring at all because they simply can't.

Side note, companies like Microsoft doing hiring freezes are frustrating, companies fear a recession, so they enforce a hiring freeze, which causes less jobs, which causes less spending, which causes more panic, Lol. Feels like their actions actually speed up a recession and all so they can save a few extra billion on their tens of billions of profits.

Dragon Age Origins 1000G complete. Now time for Awakening, remember the time when Devs actually supported their games with actual post game content and not fucking nonsense like NG+ and extra skins coming 5 months after release. The days of big expansions that could be stand alone games in their selves, good shit.

Ride The Chariot | Games Completed ‘25 Edition

Looks like Halo Infinite’s end of the year patch is dropping next Tuesday. Both Junysek and Staten are hyping up this update.
