Worked for me, bizarrely. Nothing really happened on that screen, just un-selected and re-selected and the game booted afterwards.

I really want to keep playing but it's 2am and with the talk about the slow start and all the systems and stuff to read, I don't think I can do all of that in the middle of the night, I need to be refreshed and prepared to really delve deep into these things, Lol. Probably for the best to start it early tomorrow and then I'll be no lifing it all day

Ahh well, I hope everyone else enjoys it, I hate unlocks past 12am

I just did the part up to making my character but it's so late and I'm shit at making characters, I just went with a fairly default look and confirmed my background/trait/name ready for tomorrow, Lol. You can change all your customisation later anyway for a cheap price (apparently) and fairly early in the game so I think I'll do that, I just want to play the game, Lol.

If you are playing Starfield on PC be sure to make sure your drivers are updated. I didn't realize there was the Starfield driver that dropped today and my game crashed 3 times in the intro until I updated it. That is on me. I am new to this playing new games on PC thing.

Man.. put about 6 hours into Goatfield already. Addicted already smh. Playing it my way. If anyone knows a non spoiler reason why every review says to main story first then let me know.. Otherwise, just floating from one mission to next, side task here, etc.
You also don't need a map, press LB to show a waypoint, just a small tip.

Slow start sounds great. Kingdom Come: Deliverance took hours to get story & gameplay going and so did RDR2, it's what makes them majestic! It's the same with music, the most epic songs build up slow and take you on a journey.
