Bigly.

Thank God that shit is over with, tedious as fuck.
Spent a bunch of time asking her shit which isn't even under her expert witness role and is for Microsoft's OTHER expert witness, Lol.
No further questions from FTC or Microsoft for Dr. Bailey.

Now playing testimony of Nvidia's Fisher. 19-minute video, they'll play most or almost all of it now before the lunch break.

Nvidia testimony was recorded on April 24, 2023. The Microsoft-GeForce NOW deal was announced about two months prior to that date.

FTC now asking Nvidia about the information they provided to the CMA. Obviously Nvidia can't say now that it was inaccurate. But we all know that Nvidia's position on the deal changed after the 10-year deal with Microsoft in February.

Nvidia guy saying streaming through GeForce now is a "higher quality" gaming experience than Xbox Series and PS5.
Lmao...Of course he'd say that though but it's definitely not true for most people.
This feels more like a GeForce Now Ad 😭

Yah this is really not true, he is just playing along to push their service basically and how their service is so good.
While real gamers would never use cloud gaming for any real gaming (esp. online multiplayer, shooters, etc...).
I actually consider his testimony borderline lies, I mean he understands the limitations of the cloud and pretends that they do not exist...
Nvidia testimony helps FTC with respect to combined cloud streaming and multigame subscription market because Fisher said GFN competes with Luna, but won't matter if streaming and multigame subscription services are not deemed markets. So it may not matter in the end.

Cloud Gaming executive believes Cloud Gaming will be very successful in the future and be profitable *in the future*
Shocked /s.
If anything, this completely disproves the FTCs thought of cloud streaming and consoles/PC being separate markets when you consider for GeForce Now to even work, you have to BUY the game on Steam, Epic Games Store, or other supported PC storefronts, then subscribe to stream the game that you bought. They're all intertwined with each other lol
You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind
So Nvidia was not happy with Windows licensing terms for the server side of GFN, but there is a Windows addendum to the 10-year Microsoft-GFN agreement that Nvidia considers valuable and helpful.

What the FTC is trying to do here is to portray the Microsoft-Nvidia agreement as more of a PR stunt, but given that the agreement is already being implemented in practice (with respect to Microsoft games), I doubt that this will fly.

Nvidia's Fisher doesn't want to take a position on whether Microsoft's purchase of Activision Blizzard is good for gamers, but he does say it's good for the industry.

This appears to be Microsoft asking questions now, and Nvidia confirmed that cloud gaming is small right now.

Nancy Pelosi just bought $500k worth of MS stock so I think it’s safe to say this merger will make it past this FTC hurdle.
Finally someone mentioned that multiple publishers yanked their titles from GeForce Now around that time, not just Xbox, Lol.
Cause Nvidia pissed off MULTIPLE publishers.
